You're a little late with this train of thought.  A few funny guys beat you to it on the first page.  Try to be original.  That's all I ask.  TIA
So here is the thing. I think Kanye is a moron. However he also is a wonderful musical artist.

turned Kendall into a lesbian down?

Really. Kendall Jenner is a lesbian?

My favorite quote from her Wiki page links:

"I was at Coachella when Kim told me (she was pregnant with her second). We Face Timed."

That's all you need to know about Coachella. I live seventy miles from Indio and wouldn't see that roach show if you paid me.

Kanye is a musical genius, there is no other way around it unless you are trying to hate on him. Nobody did his production style before him, and nobody who has tried to copy or innovate that style since has done so with any widescale success.

Does that make him a "God?" Idk wtf that even is in this situation, so why don't you tell me.

ETA: Speaking strictly on his production

When you're sampling something someone already has, yes.  Go paint a soup can and tell me how it's a masterpiece, Picaso.
Yeah, I'm not going to get into an argument with someone who doesn't understand hip hop or art in general

His production at first was actually a RZA derivative, and he admitted it in interviews.

His later stuff -- after College Dropout -- especially Graduation, was definitely innovative.

eta* And I love Kanye. I've taken him in many music drafts here.

Yeah, if you're talking "God" in the colloquial art sense, then yes.

Any other application of the term is suspect at best.

Interesting.  I always thought Rick Rubin was his main influence.

I'm thinking of his Blueprint-era stuff, in which he admitted Heart of The City, et. al were soul samples like the RZA did. I forget the technique. Slow Jams off of his first was also a sped up soul sample.

I just remember reading an interview where he said his early stuff was straight RZA. I could be wrong, though. Hip hop production is not an area I'm expert in.

Speaking of which, on a personal note, I own Blueprint on vinyl. It still sounds great, seventeen years later. Hola Hovito by Timbaland might be my favorite production work on the whole album, an album Kanye was ever-present on.

RZA makes a lot of sense too.  You know how art is.  No idea is really original.  Art is a sum of your parts.  I'm sure Premier and RZA (two of my favorite producers) were major influences in his work.

I didn't want to just guess, so I dug up the ol' Deities and Demigods to look up the answer.   :nerd:

Can't find Kanye in there, so I'm going to have to say no.

Closest names I could find were Kuan Yin and Kali, but they're chicks.

a God?

what God gets liposuction "to look good for y'all (papparazzi)" ???

There within, lies your answer.

At some point the inauthentic becomes the authentic and identity, so often played with, becomes an excuse.
I buy into that. Or at least you're becoming some blend or amalgamation of your "true self" and your "fictionalized self."

At the least, I think it's more interesting than a guy who's just off his meds. But, unfortunately, we're living in a time where the worst tendencies of the current regime's supporters have real, actual adverse effects on real people.

This I agree with, too, as probably indicated by my post.

As for the current regime, I'm not sure Kanye really supports it. I'm buying the prestige theory, actually, though people can often make truly bizarre decisions.
