Is Kellen Winslow still a #1 TE? (1 Viewer)

Is anybody else out there starting to feel that Winslow's days as a #1 TE are all over?

When one considers his health issues as well as the offense he plays in, couldn't an argument be made that he is little more than a backup te these days?

Winslow is currently the #25 te in my main league. No names like Brandon Pettigrew and Bo Scaife are ranked higher than Winslow and a new generation of TE's (Keller and Moeaki) are significantly more productive thus far.

Fantasy wise the guy is at a crossroads. I am starting to think he is never going to live up to all the hype that he came into the league with. I think at best he will rank from 12-15 and more likely he will end the season no higher than in the 15-20 range of te's.

I drafted Winslow at my TE1, but until something changes..............starting in week 5.....Moeaki takes his spot and Winslow hits the bench.

I still think Winslow has game......but, in THAT offense and having had so man knee issues.......I think he's a low end TE1 AT BEST.......most likely a higher end TE2.

His game log is: 4 rec, 4 rec, 3 rec, and no TDs so far.

Even if you hold on to Winslow to see if things pick up later, the waiver wire guys you mentioned are all better options right now.

In leagues with short benches I wouldn't be surprised to see Winslow get dropped.

I hear that he is constantly taking pain killers, and seldom practices fully. He says he's just gutting out the season and planning to show on Sundays. I admit it concerns me as he is my TE #1.

I missed out on KC rookie TE. Now I have to just hope and I always have Pettigrew as a backup.

I traded him immediately after the week 2 game. Six knee surgeries and its been bothering him since before the season. He's a good TE but he's also a time bomb, get something when you can.

Put me in the "developing chemistry with the QB" / offense camp. I'm not gobbling him up in dynasty leagues or anything, but I think he'll be a servicable TE1 when it's all said and done. By the time that happens his knees will be finished, for redraft I think he's alright, but I wouldn't buy or hold too long in dynasty

I'm reading that the Bucs will cut Kellen Winslow Jr in March. Luke Stocker sleeper?

Luke Stocker sleeper?

Unlikely as TB will almost certainly run a similar offense to NYG... unless Stocker can play the slot. It just seems like NYG don't really use the TE all that much, so I wouldn't be shocked if TB signs Steve Smith.
