Before Week 3, I rolled up Pennington/LJ/Charles for JStew to a QB-less team with only 1 startable RB (due to injuries) in my start 2QBs dynasty league.I consider myself incredibly lucky, considering what happened to Penny.I agree, if not for injuries to other players, he'd already be cut from my dynasty league. In redraft, his value is nearly nothing. He'll still get some carries, but he looked used up.
and portis. its a new ageI think Johnson, Tomlinson and (Jamal) Lewis are pretty close to the same value.
I would think Tomlinson still have more value than those two at this point.Spike said:I think Johnson, Tomlinson and (Jamal) Lewis are pretty close to the same value.
I'm actually thinking about trying to acquire Johnson as a RB 2/3 for me to replace McFaddenTomlinson still has top 15 value (Ryan Grantish). Jamal Lewis on the other hand is not a player would want to rely on.
in a platoon with Leon Washington in a 14 team league and am interested in what his current value might be and how he is being used is KC.I'm not expecting the world, but he could be a low cost trade that will give me steady, if unspectacular, points for me and after McFadden I'd take steady.Yes, he is the most untradeable player in FF.He is:Untradeable.Drop him and whoever you add.... that's what you would get in a trade for him. That is a trade.Having said that I dropped him a couple weeks ago and he got picked right up.I dropped him for MSW.If not, what kind player would you target?
You really think he is top 15? (Not really arguing, just I have read nothing except how he's lost it, etc.)Just curious - Where would you rank LJ from here forward? Or what about Sproles from here forward?Tomlinson still has top 15 value (Ryan Grantish).
I'm in the same boat. I'm considering buying him as replacement at RB3/spot flex filler in place of McFadden. I know his owner in this particular league is TOTALLY over him and will likely give him away for magic beans at this point.I'm actually thinking about trying to acquire Johnson as a RB 2/3 for me to replace McFaddenTomlinson still has top 15 value (Ryan Grantish). That's a pretty strong case for buying him cheap, when you add in the couple games vs. San Diego and the Oakland matchup too.Hmmm...Call me crazy, but I actually think he is a great buy low right now. He draws Buffalo, Cleveland and Cincy weeks 14-16 and still has the talent to put up solid numbers. If the o-line can get it together even slightly, he can be a rb2/3 for most teams. There doesn't seem to be another back nipping at his heels and he is even catching passes out of the backfield. I have been giving some thought to starting him at my flex spot over Addai this week, based purely on a hunch that he gashes the Cowboys this weekend.
I've actually got both of 'em from KC.I traded Lj last week for SD def (i only had Washington), than the owner I traded him to sent him to a different team this week for Bowe.
That's the thing I've been hoping for. Especially with Cassell slowed early, and their monstrous schedule--what little he managed week 4 was actually pretty good against the Giants, and that playoff schedule looks sweeeeeeet!! He's my occasional flex/bye week filler so unless something really good comes up I'll likely hold on...Call me crazy, but I actually think he is a great buy low right now. Hmmm, if I'm an LJ owner I'd1: copy bullet points above2: compose e-mail entitled "Larry Johnson - the key to your FF season"3: paste bullet points from above4: send to other owners in your league5: sit back and wait for boatloads of offersHere are the best pitches to use to increase LJ's value- He is still one of the few backs that touches the ball 20 times a game. - Cassel missed some time in the pre-season and should be hitting stride soon which will lead to more GL looks- The most Dynamic player on the team (Bowe) is back and healthy. He will help keep drives alive and move the ball downfield- The O-Line has two new starters that are getting better every game
There are a few possible reasons LJ's numbers improve going forward.1/ Easier schedule. KC's schedule has been brutal thus far.2/ Matt Cassel is healthy and is starting to get comfortable in the offense3/ Dwayne Bowe will be healthy. If healthy he is a legit weapon defenses would have to respect4/ The O-line can only get better going forward.5/ He is going to get a lot of touches this season.6/ Great playoff schedule.I think LJ is a decent buy low right now as long as you understand you are getting a #3 rb and not that Larry Johnson from 4/5 years ago... That said I think he has some upside. The only team I have him on is a lock for the playoffs, and he's behind Ronnie, Benson, Rice, Caddy and Mendenhall right now but there's no way I move him. He's solid depth for the playoffs if I need it. If all the above are healthy before the trade deadline, I may move him to a RB desperate team. I think he gets a value spike at some point this season and for rosters more than 16 deep, I'd advise against selling low right now.
