Not really. It's real easy to look at numbers and declare someone as great. I hope he lands with one of your teams next year, and by week 8 you'll understand where we get our opinions from. Although San Diego would probably be a great fit for Andy, they're definitely not as intense or care as much about football as we do on the east coast it seems. And do outsiders really think of the Eagles as a "perennial powerhouse" as SSOG said??
The Eagles aren't a perennial powerhouse right now, but they made 4 straight NFCCGs and 5 overall. He won an eye-popping 113 games in the 2000s decade. I would very much call that a "perennial powerhouse". As I said, Reid is very bad at the most noticeable parts of a coach's job (specifically: in-game management). The fact that this causes people to overlook the fact that he has six 11-win seasons and 5 championship game appearances vs. just two losing seasons baffles me. Obviously he's been doing something right. Just because it's not visible to the casual fan does not mean it doesn't exist.
How long ago was this? People keep forgetting he has been the Eagles coach since 1999...that is a LONG FREAKING TIME.... When the NFC east was dreadfully bad..hell most the NFC was during that time. What has he done since? Everyone bags on Rich Kotitie....guess what? He has a better record in his 4 years with the Eagles then Reid has had in his last 4 years. 00-05 is when he was good...then it started to stutter..then when Johnson died it really went downhill. Check my sig.

:goodposting: People keep warning us we might end up like the Kotite years yet they are too lazy to realize Reid's been worse in the last 4 years. Kotite years would be an IMPROVEMENT at this point.Oh, and Turner's been more successful during his 6 years with the Chargers than Reid has been with the Eagles in those same years.

Probably.
I'll take your word for it. If ever there was an expert it should be a raider fan. Winning % for the last decade: 31%. Norv was a whopping 3% worse than the other SIX guys over that span when he was coaching the raiders.
Well, you got me there!
Well, don't keep us in suspense. Why don't you fill out the rest of the list for us since Turner left the raiders? I'm honestly curious how you would rank them.1.2.3.4.5.6. Norv Turner(.568)(3-3)Coach(Win%)(Playoff Record)Art Shell(.500)(0-0)Lane Kiffin(.250)(0-0)Tom Cable(.386)(0-0)Hue Jackson(.500)(0-0)Dennis Allen(.286)(0-0)

... or even just the best of the group? If the litmus test is winning the super bowl then I'll admit he's certainly tied for the worst in history. Tied with several hundred other guys.

Looks like it's time for our yearly analysis of how terrible a coach Norv Turner is. It's been apparent to many of us since the beginning that he is not a good coach. Yet his defenders try to point to his record with the Chargers and ignore the fact that he took over a team that was 14-2 the previous year and easily one of the best in the NFL. He has done nothing but run this team into the ground since and he will leave it nothing but a withered husk of it's former self. This might be a team that entices Bill Cowher to come out of retirement.
:goodposting:The downside to Norv getting fired is we can't have our yearly "Norv sucks" analysis.
