Either he's in or he's out. I personally can't see how you keep a guy with 600 home runs out, but I also thought McGwire would get a lot more votes than he did. I chatted with some people about this one and some people actually feet he's done absolutely nothing besides hit home runs.

It's scary that A-Rod is 7 years younger but only 109 home runs behind Sosa.

I don't think the 600 HR milestone, nor the 3000 hit milestone are worth what they once were.

I want to see how he finishes up - he's been a good enough hitter at his position to merit a look, and has been widely thought to be one of the better players in baseball in his dominant years.

3,000 hits is still a lock, with the possible exception of Palmerio. And 600 should certainly be a lock too, maybe the new 500 as it were. As Timmah has been saying on ESPN, if its numbers alone hes a lock. And I frankly don't think that any of the steroid concerns are any more valid than they were in 1998 when no one bothered to ask. I guess I just don't get the outrage over steroids as opposed to say greenies or Gaylord Perry. About the only concern for me is the corked bat, but I don't consider that enough to keep him out of the Hall.

Sosa, McGwire and Bonds all get in, even though I hate it. Maybe not first ballet but they will eventually get in.
This would be funny to watch. :excited: But I agree, though, first round will give the writers a chance to make their point then every subsequent year, more will vote for them until they make it.

I think this "debate" is borderline insane. Sammy was a joy to watch, and his numbers are on par with any great name you can think of. ####### ESPN tools...It's a damn shame, but I guess Sammy brought most of this upon himself...
