Stephania Bell over at ESPN said this in her 11am chat today:

Jackson is not looking good for this week. A repeat MRI reportedly showed increased inflammation, and actually it sounds as if he ahs gone backwards in terms of healing. With him unable to practice, and Haslett being very clear that without full practice he would not play, and with it not looking good from a healing perspective, I expect he will be out this week.
I don't expect him to play this week at all, and I already moved him to the bench in favor of MeMo.

No good news here

Barring a sudden and highly unexpected change in Jim Haslett’s original stance, count RB Steven Jackson out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. And don’t be surprised if Jackson’s strained thigh muscle keeps him sidelined for another week or two.

After Jackson’s aborted attempt to play last Sunday vs. Arizona, Haslett insisted that Jackson be able to put in a full practice this week before he’d clear him for the Jets game. Jackson did nothing at practice Wednesday or Thursday, and he isn’t on the field this morning at Rams Park.

So, the RB duties go to newcomers Kenneth Darby and Samkon Gado, with Antonio Pittman (hamstring) a possibility for the rotation. Pittman did some work Thursday and Friday. Travis Minor (concussion) isn’t expected to be cleared until next week.

All for now . . . more after practice.

Steven Jackson (quads) wasn't on the Rams' practice field again on Friday and is expected to miss Week 10 against the Jets.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that S-Jax could miss "another week or two" after this. Antonio Pittman (hamstring) did some work Friday and may join the tailback rotation with Ken Darby and Samkon Gado on Sunday. It's unclear which back will start, but look elsewhere for fantasy options.

I'm glad I held onto Mewelde, and hopefully Reggie Bush will be back in time to dump Jackson on IR (fantasy IR).

Dear Coach,

Please do not play Mr. Jaxson. He looks hurt. If you let him sit until wk 12, you will have two weeks for him to get up to game speed for my fantasy playoffs!

Thanks

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (thigh) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 7. He will not play in the team's Week 10 game.

even if he was playing memo is a better start

last year he will be on my team...so unreliable. When he's healthy, he's a beast but you can't score points on the bench. so frustrated.

From CBS Sportsline, Darby to start:

News: Rams coach Jim Haslett said Friday that RB Steven Jackson will not play at the Jets in Week 10. He did not practice all week and will be inactive for the contest. The Rams will start Kenneth Darby, formerly of the practice squad, in Jackson's place and rotate him with Antonio Pittman and newly signed rusher Samkon Gado. "I know they're excited about having the opportunity to play this team and obviously going against the Jets with the great run defense they have this will be a great challenge for them," Haslett said on Darby and Gado.

Slight HiJack here...but there are a couple of mentions of Mewelde Moore...something wrong with Willie Parker again?
