Yes or no.  Will there be a single payer healthcare system in the USA within the next 20 years?  Universal healthcare in some form.

I would like there to be, but it won't happen in the next 20. Next 50 maybe.

The real question is "will there be an America in 2037."

I think it's inevitable. The free market hasn't shown to work in this area efficiently.

Hmmm, 20 years to convince a significant part of the population that single payer isn't "socialism," defeat a huge industry with massive amounts of lobbying $ and wait for the fairly collaborative millennials to reach an age where affordable health care (with less financial risk) is important to them. Those are big tasks and the flyover people hate change. OTOH, the public swung in favor of gay rights and marijuana legalization pretty quickly once the ball started rolling downhill a little bit. I feel like the ball is starting to roll on single payer, too.
