Top 50 Sandwiches - Ranked by Scoresman (1 Viewer)

I chastised a coworker for putting ketchup on a hotdog at a baseball game today
I put ketchup, mustard, onions…..whatever on a hot dog.

You elitists with your stinking stupid hot dogs. It’s a tube of the dregs of whatever meat they scoop up off the factory floor.
Mmmm…dregs

I will order anything that comes with “pork debris”
My link
Peppa pig was/is awesome. 🥹
Or gross.
She’s a kids cartoon. My daughter loved her
I know who Peppa Pig is. I don't live in a cave.
Updates notebook.

Never heard of the one from Oregon. Been to Sunriver many times but guess I need to go back.

Crap I had an opportunity to eat there the one time we've been to Bend, but was shot down with the "We have leftovers in the fridge" argument.

But this just shows how much Oregon lacks good delis. I always joke with my wife that I'm going to open a NY style deli in Portland, and start talking like Mario and everything. Then many hanging salami jokes are made and it never goes any further.

After much thought and consideration, I am declaring the 2024 NFL season to be The Season of the Sandwich. Thus - nay, THUSLY, I will be celebrating 18 sandwiches this season, a different one each Sunday. Not sure where I'll land on week 1, but Tuna Salad has been invited back for a second interview. I'd like to go over the French bread and melt options. ...but still, so many to choose from.

Sounds much more promising than the Chargers prospects this season.

I like your style.

Fried egg sandwich for breakfast. A sprinkle of salt on the egg, a bit of butter on the wheat toast, nothing else.
Needs pepper, bacon (or sausage patty), and cheese. Also like a little siracha added in as well
Nope. I like the purity of the original form.

I'd rather have the eggs and toast separate on a plate so I can dip the bread in the egg yolk.

Not everything is a sandwich.

No, it's not. And if they are separate, I'm having other English breakfast items with them. If I want a sandwich, I'm having the fried egg sandwich.

How to make a tomato sandwich:

- Since this is a sandwich with few ingredients, those ingredients must be of the best quality. In particular, this is a sandwich that highlights the very best tomatoes at the peak of tomato season. Regular grocery store tomatoes will not work.

- Get some sandwich bread. Shokupan is the best here, but any white sandwich bread works. I'm using buttermilk white. Butter one side and toast on hot skillet. Only one side gets toasted!

- Next, you need good mayo. Hellmans/Best foods is not it. Either make it yourself, or get kewpie. Spread a good amount onto the toasted side of each slice of bread.

- Slice your tomatoes pretty thick, and salt each one as you add to the sandwich. Pepper is allowable too. I stacked 4 slices in mine. Cut the sandwich in half and wala!

Neighbor just dropped off the most gorgeous looking tomatoes.

That means tomato sandwich today, BLTs tomorrow.

We've got a kitchen full of great fresh tomatoes from neighbors and I've been eating BLT's nearly every day. I had to bake more bread this weekend to keep up.
Color me jealous. I love great fresh tomatoes.
My mother wasn't the best cook but she grew the best tomatoes. Used old coffee grounds as fertilizer. Something about the caffeinated dirt really perked them up. 🍅

Ok giving egg salad a try again tomorrow. First time flavor was good but it very quickly became water-y. I think that's because it was low fat mayo (high water content). Planning to basically do the same thing, but with real mayo, and I may whip the yolks less, rather try to leave them chunky and fold into the sauce with the whites.

I’m telling you - MIRACLE WHIP!

bahn mi today ❤️

Edit: this place does a decent job, but need to find a different bread. They use a square ciabatta roll, which is just ok for this sandwich. If i were having something like a chicken pesto, it would have been fine

#2 - Jambon Beurre

Country of origin: France 🇫🇷

French baguette with butter and ham. Also known as "Parisien," it is the most popular sandwich in France.

A pattern with a few of the sandwiches in my list is simplicity. As much as I love a sandwich jam-packed with goodies, something with few but quality ingredients can be just as good. The Jambon Beurre exemplifies this. If you haven't had one in Europe, you really haven't had this sandwich. In general, the bread and butter in the states is just not as good. These are simple ingredients that Europe excels at and it comes together to make an amazingly simple and delicious sandwich.

So close

The Jambon Beurre with a thick slice of brie or camembert is my #1 sandwich, but I'm not sure it has a name. I'm too old and fat to eat them regularly but find a way a couple of times a year.

Going with a classic tomorrow. Turkey, bacon, and Canadian bacon on lightly toasted sour dough with baby Swiss, purple onion, tomato, green leafy, and choice of mustards, mayo, and Durkee sandwich spread. Ruffles, French onion, and pickles on the side.

Anything else I should consider adding to the spread? I used to get a similar sandwich from a bagel shop on a poppy seed bagel that was fantastic, so wondering if a little poppy seed is worth trying.

Talk to me about Cubanos, especially the roast pork component. Is this something sold in a grocery store, or do I need to plan to roast it myself? Tbh, I kind of want to do it myself, but I need to know if I have some kind of blind spot for the already roasted variety. Thanks

Do any of you use that Japanese mayo that comes in a squeeze bottle?
Kewpie?! Delicious.

I don’t care for traditional mayo unless I add things. Kewpie already has some extra flavor to it. Vinegar. Umami. Good stuff.

The Kewpie bottle has a very unique feel to it when new but it's kind of a pain as you get towards the end of the bottle.

Mr R loves those things. He says you want moist, rather than dry pork. Pot roast is what you are shooting for- shredded on the sandwich. Pork tenderloin is aces.

I posted in the LA thread, but will here also. Looking for a local or regional sandwich/sub shop in LA north of LAX. I’m on the east coast and have never been to LA. I’ve checked out some reviews on YouTube and Google but trust the FFA far more!

Not a sandwich, but you need to get a California burrito and a birra taco.
