Watch every single snap of the cowboys, felix won't keep the job. He has some games he looks the part but as an every down back he looses his burst. They wanted to take murray in the 2nd round so its clear they think he's their back. Choice will be cut/traded they don't like him.partly attidute.
I think it goes like this:
Felix starts the year as RB1
Murray RB2
Miller RB3 ( short yardage marionesque role)
By week 3 murray will be RB1 and felix back to his role of home run hitter off the bench.
Murray was taken in the 3rd round, and based on YPC and injuries in college even that was a reach IMO. If Murray ends up their starter, they are in trouble.
CP you usually have a good view on things. how do you read the situation? To me, all this stuff is great news for Felix and it seems that few are viewing it that way. Always liked Felix's talent but he's been one of those perenial teases and felt he was overvalued the past few years. This year I think he may be undervalued but the Dallas line scares me a bit.
I read it as Felix as the clear starter, but he's not getting 350 carries so Murray was drafted to take some carries as the #2. I think they soured on Choice last year and Murray sends him to the bench, and maybe Lonyae Miller sends him out the door. The worry with Felix isn't ability, he has that. It's being able to shoulder a big load, something he's never really done in pros or in college. So it'll definitely be some form of RBBC, the question is how big a split. If he gets more than 250-275 carries (if healthy) I'd be surprised. Murray will likely get about half the carries Jones gets if he turns out to be a useful back. We don't know that yet though, we'll have to see how preseason goes.
Lonyae Miller intrigues me, and could end up the surprise minor part of a RBBC to Felix if Murray doesn't pan out. And lest we forget, lots of 3rd round picks don't pan out. J orwood, L Booker, G Wolfe, B Calhoun to name a few (of course guys like B Westbrook, J Charles, F Gore, and S Greene were also 3rd rounders). But it's Murray's #2 job to lose.
Regarding Choice, as I said upthread in post #19 eleven days ago, "Choice is another one of those guys who will always be rostered by guys perpetually hoping for something but he'll never give them anything. A tease and that's all. He'll always be just another backup. We've seen it in the past with names like Leon Washington and Jerious Norwood. He'll be like them in a couple years, just another 28-29 year old nobody."
