Is Wimbley a DE or OLB in OAK? (1 Viewer)

He was a DE that was converted to OLB in Cleveland's 3/4 defense. He was traded to OAK who was running 4/3 defense but I'm hearing rumblings of a mixed 3/4..4/3 hybrid. I think Wimbley could be a beast as a 4/3 DE but he will probably continue to suck at 3/4 OLB.

Any thoughts to how this turns out?

Wimbley was lining up at SLB (4-3) during OTAs. I haven't yet heard whether he's playing DE in the nickel packages. There are no definite plans for any 3-4 base defensive fronts and I don't remember seeing any reports that he was lining up at DE in the base 4-3.

The answer to this question is also important in terms of how it might affect Matt Shaughnessy's playing time. I would think that the more Wimbley plays LB, the more chances Shaughnessy should get to break out at DE.
