It's Time For A White Privilege Equality Tax (1 Viewer)

Because it would be THIS payment which the underprivileged group would use as capital investment to get themselves or their families out of the poverty cycle.

I think we already tax pumpkin spice lattes, but I can look into it.
Not limited enough. Black folks also drink the stuff. I saw Magic Johnson at a convention a few years back and he talked about owning several Starbucks in black communities. I think he was doing pretty well.

  • Single Heterosexual Caucasian Males
    Equality Tax: 5%
  • Single Heterosexual Caucasian Females
    Equality Tax: 4.5%
  • Married Heterosexual Caucasian Family
    Equality Tax: 4%
  • Non-cisgender Caucasian
    Equality Tax: 3%
Slight break is you are female, a little more break if you are married and the most relief if you are non-cisgender which I think is a fancy name for trannie

Take the money I'm contributing to SS that I'll never get to use, and just use that.  Stop ####### taxing me more and more.

I say we do it with the proviso that those who complain about white privilege AFTER taking the money have to return it - with a 25% surcharge.

While I think this is a good idea I am concerned about Native Americans so please tax me at 10% and give 5% to them.

It's the least I can do considering all the harm my ancestors did to the slaves and Native Americans back in Ireland and Italy.  I am ashamed.

White Privilege is a made up phrase by the left.  Asians are doing a lot better economically and educationally than whites, where is the white privilege?  Black couples only make up 8% of the poverty in this country, yet single white mothers make up 22%, where is the white privilege?  Single parent homes (over 70%) is the main reason for black issues, not white privilege.

I would like to move over to a model that offers more job training, counseling, child care up front and less money down the road.  The slow, constant trickle of just enough isn't a good system.

Shocking that a white conservative would say this. For a different perspective, the below an opinion piece by an African American woman. I will just give the 7 point talking points, but she elaborates in detail to support each of these if anyone wishes to read the entire article at the link:

7 Actual Facts That Prove White Privilege Exists in America

1. You are less likely to be arrested -   Blacks do get pulled over for traffic stops more often than whites, but that's because blacks commit a disproportionate amount of traffic offenses.    Racial activists accuse stop-and-frisk of being racist, and yet the percentage of blacks stopped is actually underrepresented when compared to the percentage of blacks that commit crimes.   According to Mac Donald in a Wall Street Journal column, black persons comprised 55 percent of all of the New York City Police Department stops in 2012, even though 66 percent of violent criminals in the city are black as well as 78 percent of shooting suspects and 74 percent of shooting victims.

2. You are more likely to get into college.  Not true all things being equal.  However, they aren't equal because a lot of blacks don't want to succeed in the classroom (especially in the inner cities) and those that do are labeled as uncle Toms by other blacks.  The problem with blacks lie with lack of fathers and direction.

3. You are more likely to "fit in" and get called back for a job. - I have no idea on that one and find that hard to believe.

4. You are less likely to be perceived as a "thug."  - If the shoe fits.

5. You are less likely to be labeled "angry."  - With over 70% of young African Americans without a father, they have a right to be angry.

6. You are more likely to make headlines when missing. - True, but if a black man is killed by a white man, CNN will make sure that airs before a young white couple from Knoxville, TN are brutally murdered by a group of black thugs.

7. You are more likely to find adequate housing. The fair housing act of 1968 says otherwise

After working for a staffing agency I can say for the most none of this is true if you present yourself professionally.

80-90% of my workforce are mostly black minorities. If 2 guys apply for a job, one comes in with business attire and prepared with the other with his pants around his ankles, baseball cap and texts through the entire interview it's no wonder who I will call back.

And that goes for anyone.

Um, except she wasn't talking about presenting yourself when applying for the job, If you had bothered to read the link, she was referring specifically to the likelihood of getting the interview to begin with, based on your resume, particularly if you are perceived as being "black" during the job search.

3. You are more likely to "fit in" and get called back for a job.

Having a name perceived as "black" is a burden during a job search. In 2012, an unemployed black woman made headlines for reporting that her resume on Monster.com began to receive interest from employers after she changed her name and race. Yolanda Spivey, an insurance professional, noticed that Monster.com'sversity questionnaire" section seemed to be hurting her employment options. After Yolanda changed her name to the fictitious Bianca White, however, she received calls with job offers immediately. And not only that, they were for better jobs.

"More shocking was that some employers, mostly Caucasian-sounding women, were calling Bianca more than once, desperate to get an interview with her," Spivey wrote. "All along, my real Monster.com account was open and active; but, despite having the same background as Bianca, I received no phone calls. Two jobs actually did email me and Bianca at the same time. But they were commission only sales positions. Potential positions offering a competitive salary and benefits all went to Bianca."
This confirms what a 2003 field study by two economists found (which probably still holds true today):

http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/mar/15/jalen-ross/black-name-resume-50-percent-less-likely-get-respo/

Do job-seekers with 'white' names get more callbacks than 'black' names? [...]

Economists Marianne Bertrand and Sendhil Mullainathan wanted to explore racial bias in the job market.

They responded to help-wanted ads for a variety of positions in the fields of sales, administrative support, clerical services and customer services posted in The Boston Globe and Chicago Tribune with fake resumes. The researchers plugged in made-up names on the resumes that are associated with African-Americans (they used Lakisha Washington and Jamal Jones as examples) or whites (Emily Walsh and Greg Baker) based on naming data for babies born between 1974-79 in Massachusetts. The name on each resume was randomly assigned, so the same resume in some cases had a black name and in others had a white name.

Then they counted the callbacks.

The resumes with white-sounding names spurred 50 percent more callbacks than the ones with black-sounding names.

After responding to 1,300 ads with more than 5,000 resumes, the researchers found that the job applicants with white names needed to send 10 resumes to get one callback, but the black candidate needed to send 15 for one.

It didn’t matter whether the employer was a federal contractor or was described as an "equal opportunity employer," as those also discriminated like the others.

"We find little evidence that our results are driven by employers inferring something other than race, such as social class, from the names," their paper states. "These results suggest that racial discrimination is still a prominent feature of the labor market."

  I think with the bolded alone you have reached your quota of black racial stereotypes for the day, if not the month and the year.

7. You are more likely to find adequate housing. The fair housing act of 1968 says otherwise
Yes and The Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

https://www.nps.gov/subjects/civilrights/1964-civil-rights-act.htm

However such discrimination still exists in this country, contrary to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 saying otherwise.

.
Call it whatever you want, but If someone is wearing their pants half way down their butt showing their underwear, along with a do-rag, and lots of gold chains, I'm pretty sure they will be perceived more of a thug than someone who is not.

Except she wasn't talking about that. She was talking about how most blacks are perceived irrespective of how they are actually dressed, yet you trot out the stereotype suggesting that most or all dress that way.

We know economists are never wrong.

As for the resumes.......some of the urban names are made up and sometimes too ridiculous to pronounce. That's the parents fault and their intelligence is an indication of the applicants intelligence.

Didn't say they were infallible, Straw Man. And if you can find studies that prove your point, please post a link.

Another scientific argument: A job applicant's intelligence can be ascertained by the name their parent's gave them. No racial stereotyping there - good job!

White Privilege is a made up phrase by the left.
Nah, it really does exist.  If I get pulled over for a traffic violation, the cop and I will probably have a friendly conversation while he's writing up my ticket or warning, and then I'll go on my way amicably.  I'm not the slightest bit worried about being shot.

That's a dramatic example.  On a less-dramatic level, nobody ever condescendingly tells me how articulate I am because I speak English correctly, nobody ever wants to touch my hair, and nobody ever treats me as a spokesperson for my entire race.  I agree, of course, that the idea of reparations is ludicrous, but that doesn't mean the underlying issue doesn't exist at all.  Minorities, and black people in particular, really do have a different day-to-day lived experience than I do.

My objection is in labeling this a "privilege."  In principle, everybody should be treated the way I am. It's like a dis-privilege for others.
