iTunes (1 Viewer)

Anyone ever have iTunes lose the ability to find your music? All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, iTunes cannot locate most of my songs. I can see the songs in my Music folders, and when I click on them they will play.

But if I try to access them through iTunes, it says it cannot locate them. I'm on a PC. Bout ready to pitch the effing thing and go buy an iMac.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a while but I believe there's a XML file in My Music/iTunes that maintains all the information that's displayed within iTunes including the pointers to the source files.  If this gets corrupted, you may need to rebuild your library.

iTunes for Windows is the biggest piece of bloated crapware that Apple has ever released.  It's the counterargument to any discussion about elegant design of Apple products.

Agree 100%.

That being said, is there a better option I can download to my PC that I can also sync to an app on my phone?

If you have a recent system restore point, you may be able to do a single file recovery of "itunes music library.xml"

MediaMonkey is a pretty popular substitute, and has a free version that might be good enough for you.  I've also used CopyTrans Manager in the past and liked it, but haven't had the need for any of these in a couple years.
