It would appear he really wanted to go there. By no means was this a sweetheart deal. The Browns have some nice momentum going and still have some more cash and draft picks to work with. They are definetly making the most noise in the early stages of free agency.4 years, $10 million seems low to me. I'm surprised he signed so quickly as I think he could have gotten more if he waited.
Regardless, another good signing for the Browns.
Must be something in the water... Crennel was a heck of a car salesman in another life.4 years, $10 million seems low to me. I'm surprised he signed so quickly as I think he could have gotten more if he waited.

It would be nice now if Crennel could now sell some "car" Insurance to Julian Peterson.Must be something in the water... Crennel was a heck of a car salesman in another life.4 years, $10 million seems low to me. I'm surprised he signed so quickly as I think he could have gotten more if he waited.

How is that low? JJ is a 3rd or 4th WR in the NFL.4 years, $10 million seems low to me. I'm surprised he signed so quickly as I think he could have gotten more if he waited.

He scored 10 TDs last year on a team that went to the Super Bowl. He also contributed to the Bucs Super Bowl season in 2002. His value has probably never been higher than it is right now. There are plenty of teams that need WR help and not that many quality options available (Wayne, KRob, Bruce all re-signed before going on the open market, making Jurevicius even more valuable). The Bills just gave $10 million over 5 years to a no-name TE. I wouldn't be that surprised if some team out there thought Joe Jurevicius was worth nearly twice that much (i.e., at least $3 or $4 million per year). How is that low? Totally agree. While his #'s aren't spectacular he's a hard nosed WR who has made some very big plays in some very big games over the years. The fact that the Browns got him at a very reasonable rate is very impressive. I would have loved to see him in a Pats uniform at this price. He scored 10 TDs last year on a team that went to the Super Bowl. He also contributed to the Bucs Super Bowl season in 2002. Is a player who has never started more than 11 games in a year and has averaged 4 starts a year really worth that much cash?
Smart way to build a team. Once you get a solid character guys with quality leadership skills you can than roll the dice on some "questionable" guys because they will be coming into a much more stable environment where their BS won't be tolerated.Browns continuing their Patriots-esque policy of signing "character" guys with leadership skills and high motors over more athletically gifted but perhaps less reliable figures.

any projections someone wants to throw out there? As a JJ owner in a few leagues, all I have to say is![]()
You make a good point about the FA WR's being soft but really don't the 10TD's and Super Bowl team scream anomaly? He's a 31yo journeymen that has bounced from team to team without much thought unable to outright win a starting position his entire career unless there signifigant injuries to guys in front of him.He scored 10 TDs last year on a team that went to the Super Bowl. How is that low? I think an average year of production is likely. And CLE fans are going to shudder when they realize just what that is.A drop off in production for JJ is likely.
I guess I have to agree, but remember, JJ was a waiver wire pick up for most of us and he had a very good year. I don't think anyone expected he would turn into a #1 WR. His best case was a #2 on a good offense and worst case was...well, this! There wasn't much wiggle room in this case.As a JJ owner in a few leagues, all I have to say is![]()
In some leagues, yes. In some dynasty leagues I'm in, at least, no.I guess I have to agree, but remember, JJ was a waiver wire pick up for most of us and he had a very good year. Perhaps they are ATTEMPTING to open things up a bit. They have traditionally been a very conservative team, hence theany projections someone wants to throw out there? As a JJ owner in a few leagues, all I have to say is![]()
Yeah, that's why I said "most." I picked him up in my dynasty league the first week of October. In some leagues, yes.
