Walker has played 2 games and has caught 8 balls for 120 yards.

He also has 2 rushes for 21 yards.

Walker made the key catch in the game today to set up the game winning field goal.

How long before Walker is again considered an elite WR and one of the top in the game?

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos WR Rod Smith (concussion) took hard hits in the first and fourth quarters of the team's Week 2 game and was taken out with a concussion. He didn't want to discuss his injury after the game.
Walker might have to play an even bigger role...

Just throw him the damn ball.
:goodposting: When Plummer did it worked out pretty damn good. I watched the whole game and I was rather encouraged by what I saw out of Walker, he looks healthy and agile. With enough targets I believe he could easily regain the form he had in Green Bay...I just hope this offense allows him enough targets.

If Lelie can put up 1000 yards in this offense, I am sure it offers enough targets. The Broncos have not thrown enough deep balls Walker's way yet. This guy should get at least 2-3 long balls a game. Walker's first catch of the game was really nice where he new he was going to get hit but made a nice snag. He is a threat everywhere, short passes, long passes and reverses. I think he has done very well for his first 2 games in a new offense.

hes always reminded me of a TO type WR close in build and awarness on the field.

he doesnt seem to have lost any speed from his acl injury either which has got to be very encouraging for both him and the Broncos.

how he only fetched a 2nd and Branch fetched a 1st blows my mind.

Good point. I think Denver got a steal of a deal here. You get a franchise WR that was drafted in the first round and is proven and it only costs your team a second rounder. Then you draft your franchise QB to go along with this franchise WR. Great play here by the Broncos.

to be honest with you he went for so little because of the injury and questions on whether he would recover from it. but i did read up on how well Walker was progressing and coming back from his injury alot prior to his trade so maybe it was just something they wanted to rid themselves with. however that was Denvers gain and the rest of the leagues loss in my eyes for jumping on it when they did.

Yup. They did this in the second half, and it's one of the primary reasons they won the game. Had they gone his way more in the first half (and thrown him a few deep balls as other have mentioned) I think the game would have been blown open. The guy has serious talent. I see Rod being more of a possession type WR this season. If Walker isn't already considered the WR1, he will be shortly. As for targets, I see him getting about 130. He should put up very solid, and possibly elite, numbers with 130 targets.I consider him a great buy low assuming you can find an owner who is overly concerned about Denver's early offensive woes.

Even with Plummer's struggles, he's playing better than Lelie.

He's doing as expected.

Now, Rod Smith is doing less than normal. He usually gets a TD every other game and 70-100 yards a game. And usually plays quite wll against KC.

Up next, New England...

The best part is that they finally corrected the mistake of drafting Ashley Lelie one pick before Green Bay drafted Javon Walker.

He's looked pretty good. He hasn't really exploded downfield the way he did prior to his knee injury but that may be more a product of Plummer's poor play than anything pertaining to Walker's knee or overall health.

Nope. That's a product of Shanny's conservative play calling. He's really not coaching at a Hall of Fame level right now. Give him some time. He'll get there.
