**Jaguars at Eagles** (-7.5, 46) 4:05 (1 Viewer)

FWIW, I whole heartedly disagree withe the routine calling of 16 points a "two score lead" because the odds of getting 16 with two scores are only 1 in 4, but it's beyond stupid not to keep a 17 point DEFINITIVE 3 score lead

Just seems like some coaches are somehow against taking the points. The Eagles should have a 3+ possession lead, and now they left the door open by being up by only 2 possessions for no good reason. The Jags aren’t an elite team—just rack up whatever points you can against them until they give you a reason to gamble for more.

Meh, the call is fine. There's a half of football left, that "2 possessions" won't be like that by the end of the game.

Also, pretty sure statistically it makes sense to go for 2 far more often, especially from the 2 yard line, and especially when you have a play that works so often.

This team is so talented but Nick will eventually be the downfall. He’s the weak link.

I agree. I think he’s average at best and he’s pulling down a team that is elite in regards to how much talent they have.

I'd be surprised if the Jags scored 16 more points this game. They have 1 first down.

They get half an inch more and there wouldn't be a peep about it.

Not true, I was posting not to do it before we (or at least before I) saw the result. I'm fine going for 2 more often, I like going on fourth down more often then most people, But you do NOT take a 17 point lead down to 16 to try to make it 18. No natter how you spin it, that's DUMB

Yeah it’s not an egregious call either way (given that they’re very likely winning anyways). Another consideration in favor of kicking the extra point - don’t show any formations/plays that you may use against better opponents later in the year (when you need to go for 2).

I mean it was the tush push, not really a formation people don't know.

I still think he got in there.

It’s like herm Edwards said, you play to be ahead by a certain number of possessions at arbitrary points in the game

come on Nick, don't take the XP off the board to go for 2.....dumb
What’s the difference if the xp was on the board? As if he didn’t expect it to be a given beforehand?
Ya I also hate when people act like because he made the kick, it's somehow worse.
Doesn't matter to me, it's a dumb choice
It's so minor. Same as having a bad play call that didn't work.

We will be fine.
