**Jaguars at Eagles** (-7.5, 46) 4:05 (2 Viewers)

Wow. Jalen Hurts doesn’t give an eff about his lineman that ended up face down in the end zone after paving the way? Bad look.

Maybe give this fella Barkley a chance at the 1 JFC this tush push thing is no longer working

come on Nick, don't take the XP off the board to go for 2.....dumb
What’s the difference if the xp was on the board? As if he didn’t expect it to be a given beforehand?
Ya I also hate when people act like because he made the kick, it's somehow worse.
Doesn't matter to me, it's a dumb choice
agree with going for 2 from here?
fine with it...though it looks like they failed.

I don't know why we are arguing. Philosophically, it's DUMB to go for a coin flip 18 point lead instead of taking (or keeping) a 17 point lead.

agree to disagree. Too early to start talking about number of possession lead. I'd go for 2 every single time when it was from the 1 yard line.

  1. In 2015, the NFL moved the extra point attempt from the 2 yard line to the 15 yard line.
    • The proportion of extra points that succeeded lowered from 0.996 (in 2015) to 0.941 in the seasons after the change. A chart in an article on Axios illustrates how dramatic this change has been on extra point success rates.
  2. In 2023, a new rule allowed offenses to attempt a two point conversion from the 1 yard line (instead of the 2 yard line) when there was a defensive penalty on a touchdown.
    • The proportion of two point conversions that succeeded increased from about 0.5 to 0.565, the first season the success rate was well-above 0.5.

The difference of one yard makes a difference. For comparison, attempts to go for it on fourth down and two yards to go succeed 57.2% of the time, and this increases to 65.5% for fourth down and one yard to go.

to be fair, it wasn't the Jag contact that sent him down, but the contact to the O linemans legs. Bizarre and luky.

Now, it's a 6 point lead, when it should be a 7 point lead

Just seems like some coaches are somehow against taking the points. The Eagles should have a 3+ possession lead, and now they left the door open by being up by only 2 possessions for no good reason. The Jags aren’t an elite team—just rack up whatever points you can against them until they give you a reason to gamble for more.
I'd be surprised if the Jags scored 16 more points this game. They have 1 first down.

They get half an inch more and there wouldn't be a peep about it.
Those wasted points would come in handy just about now.
