Jahvid Best, RB, Detroit Lions (1 Viewer)

The offensive line s stil getting better so I think Best will do fine even without LeShoure being present. Detroit will sign one of the many vets walking around. How about Clinton Portis for 10-12 carries a game? He would cost a vet minimum at this point.

Best will rack up about 1,200 total yds, 48 receptions, and about 5-6TDs. You can slice the yardage up however you like but he will account for about 75+ yds of total offense most weeks. I would like him on any team tha waited to grab their RB1 but wants to get a jump on the RB3/4 spots before other teams. Best looked amazing before injuries hamepred him. He needs to play within himself and he will be fine. Don't lose faith Lion Nation.

Well, I was about to throw Best back in my keeper 4 league too. He'd cost me a 5th rounder. I just don't see any back being as valuable in the 5th rounder in a 12 team PPR. I just have a hard time recovering from last years weekly torture.

Best had 58 receptions in his rookie year. I don't see Detroit using him in the passing game less this season. If healthy he'll be much closer to 60+. I do hope the Lions sign a vet. Best doesn't look like the kind of back that can or should be shouldering 350 touches on a season. He'll be very effective in the 290 touch range similar to Jamaal Charles.

It's hard to discount the fact that he was dealing with turf toe from the second or third game on last year. He was exceptional before the injury. I can't think of any RBs that had stellar performances while they were dealing with turf toe. This guy is still a home run hitter and drafting him in the 5th round is a steal... I think his ADP should be 3rd rd or so... and that was with Mikel.

Obviously the health of both Best and Stafford play a pivotal role in what each other will or wont produce.

But its hard to not see massive fantasy numbers for Best if/while/when they are both healthy.

IF Best & Stafford stay healthy...

240 carries

905 yards (3.76)

83 catches

750 yards

9 TDs (5rush, 4rec)

SJax had 90 receptions and everyone said he would do the same...50+ is tough for a RB to continue to hit. I try not to overshoot on projections which are always wrong.

Best is a pretty dang good wr and I could see 60-80 for him... 1000 rushing yards and 500-700 yards receiving. 240 carries and 60 catches
