Jahvid Best (1 Viewer)

This is a really tough call for me. I have Best vs Bjackson. The question is, how limited is Best? I think that this is a great sign that he is playing. It tells me that the original injury was not a big deal. If the original injury was significant, then i think the management in Detroit would sit Best since they have no reason to hurry the rookie back into action. But this would mean I am depending on the Detroit Lions to be smart, lol. And Brandon Jackson is going up against the woaful Detroit defense. Tough call for me. I may just start bjak and use this as an excuse to cut him if he doesn't perform. Remember that Best is going up against the Packers D, which is quite good. Even if healthy, i'm not sure how well he would perform.

Tough call!

Jahvid Best has been upgraded to Probable on the injury report
I did desperately need him this week but still wish he would sit a week and try to get close to fully healed.A few people brought up LT. I'm thinking more of Mcfaddens rookie year. Like Best, DMAC was dominant in his second game against the Chiefs before hurting his toe late in that game. Ripped off 5 20+ yard runs in that game. Is in pain the next week but comes back. Ends up being hampered all year and I don't think had another 20 yard run all season. This is my concern with Best. Hope the Lions know what they are doing playing him this weekend.

I think Jahvid's on the right track. It may be a game-time decision - it may not - but rest definitely helped him the first days of the week 5 minutes ago via web

If you go Jackson the only way it works is if he scores. He has only averaged 35 yds a game. Best may have limited yardage depending on playing time. So it could come down to who you think has a better chance of getting in the endzone. Personally I would put my money on Best in that situation.

Lions give up 148.7 a game and have allowed 5 rushing TDs this year.Green Bay is giving up 116.7 a game (skewed a bit too by Vick) and has allowed 2 rushing TDs this year. Not so sure Best is the one with the best opportunity to score.Ive got both and am waivering there. Also have Rice which sucks right now with these game time decisions.

I'm guessing it's a combination of the Packers throwing a lot near the goal line, Kuhn possibly getting the carries anyway and Best already scoring 5 touchdowns. I would consider it a coin flip if Best plays for touchdowns but toe or not I'd take Best's big play ability.

I would and will be starting anyone over Best this Sunday. The Lion's are freaking morons if they play the kid. So he will probably play and make the injury worse.

I shouldn't consider starting Ken Darby (if Jackson doesn't play) or CJ Spiller (against the Jets) over Best, should I?

you can consider whatever you like... I myself am in a sticky situatuon where I basically HAVE to start Best because of all my injuries....Fact is though, you can play him and he does little... or sit him and he busts out an 80yd TD. He has the talent, ability, agility to do it, we know it... Noone will know what to expect until after he does it.

I know...this is a very tough call for me, but i actually think that Bjak has a better game than Best....The packers will get up early and hopefully attempt to run the clock down with Kuhn and Bjax. The upside with Best may be 20 points or so, but the downside is he plays 1 play and then comes out not feeling too good. I still think that if Best plays this is a huge positive, because it just means the injury was not very significant. My heart says go with Best but my brain tells me to go with Bjax...i never trust that heart thing anyway!

Its either Best or Maroney.............which means I'll be starting Best and hoping he breaks a long one, but I'm actually surprised the Lions are gonna play him. He must be feeling pretty damn good for the Lions to not sit him.

I was leaning towards A Hernandez in the flex in my main league. Damn. Unsure now.

Elsewhere, sticking with TheLawFirm and Forte over Best.

No the lions are just incompetent

From experience, starting Best is too risky of a play. The Lions will get beat pretty bad and when the game is out of hand, I could see him getting pulled to rest for future games. I don't care if he gets the start, bench him.

Oh ok, ill put lynch or spiller in for him... :lmao:
Exactly. Best is probably not going to truly go off this week, but he's just as likely - if not moreso - to score a reasonable number of fantasy points as my other options: Torain, Lynch, McGahee, and Hightower.

As far as I can tell Rice is fine so I think McGahee will retain his goal line duties and not do much else, its still Pittsburgh though :/ Im not benching either of them, Im also Flexing Spiller in my return league benched him 3 weeks in a row and his returns have been better than good.

I remember thinking the same thing a few weeks ago when GB played the Bears.

GB played the Bears Monday night, not a few weeks ago.Guys, my point is Best isn't going to have a very good week. I expect something like 40 yards rushing, 25 receiving with no td's. So if all of your guys are on bye except him or are injured, of course you'll play Best, you're not going to drop him. You don't have to post saying Ok, I'll start the 3rd string RB from a bad team then and roll your eyes. I'm talking to people that may be expecting more fireworks out of a guy who had 5 td's in the first two weeks. That kind of production or anything remotely close to it isn't happening this week. Yes, I'd start him over Larry Johnson.

From experience, starting Best seems like a great idea. If he's playing he's in my lineup.PPR PointsWeek 1 20.60Week 2 50.20Week 3 5.90
Right, he wasn't hurt in weeks 1 and 2. He was in 3 and here we are for week 4. You think he's going off this week, that's cool. The experience I was referring to wasn't his 3 game sample size he has in the NFL but situations that are similar to this over the years.

I'm not convinced he'll go off this week. I start players based on physical ability and opportunity. Best has both and he could go off any week he plays. If he feels good enough to play that's good enough for me.

Yeah, this is tough. It seems likely that the Pack will get up big early and then Best will sit; the only question is what he can get done before then. I think I'm going to start Jonathan Stewart over him but don't feel good about it.

I'm gambling with DWill over Best :scared:Got Foster & LT w/DWill (ADP on BYE), i have an advantage of sitting him. :lmao:

It's either Best, S. Moss or Colston at the flex for me. I was fine starting Moss but man Best is explosive.
I'm tossing around Best and Ochocinco for a flex spot. It's hard to sit Best after what he's done already. If there was no injury then it isn't even a thought. Chad is going against the Browns who got lit up by Boldin so he should have a solid game as well, except that Palmer has looked lost at times. It's a nice decision to have. Explosive RB that could be hurt and not completely effective vs. pretty much the same thing at WR.Too bad it isn't a 4:00pm kickoff.

I am having the same issue. I have Best, Brandon Jackson or T.O. as a flex option. I can't decide which one to start. I love Best's potential and I think T.O. is due. This is a ppr league otherwise I would sit Best for sure.

Can I start Best ahead of Rice(vs PIT) this week?I've just got a feeling I'm going to start the wrong one

I'm in the same boat. I decided to roll with Ocho, but WRs get .5 PPR. I'm also starting Megatron and don't want to chance two duds if the game gets too out of hand. I agree with those thinking the game can get ugly and Best can get pulled. Since I'm benching him everyone else should start him with confidence!

i just put best back in over spiller thanks to your post.... :football:

God help me, I can't leave him on the bench. Of course, my team blows donkeys, so I'm putting him in a flex ahead of Jerricho.

just rolled the dice and added Best in at the last minute as my flex. Bumped out A. Hernandez for Best.

:(
