Only two of his tackles were inside the tackle box, the majority were ten yards past the line of scrimmage or deeper. Chargers snapped the ball almost 80 times and gave up 62 tackle opportunities (vs league historical average of 49). Sanford "won" the SS job, but Tyrell Johnson rotated in about 1/3 of the time last week. He's also got two very good CBs and a pretty solid set of LBs to compete with for tackles. With the possible exception of Jon McGraw, every "breakout" safety this week has multiple issues unfortunately. I wouldn't trust Sanford as more than a bye week DB3.
