What's the shark play here? Do we have any data for games he has started? He was targetted deep a few times last week.........
it's the uptick in targets that's most important.which should happenHe basically started the first game, too. Only had 5 or so fewer snaps than Nelson and Jennings so on paper he really won't see a major uptick in snaps. If Jennings is out, Cobb is the guy that will get an extra 25 snaps or so from the first game. That's not to say that Jones won't be productive, though, just that he'll have a similar workload to week 1.
Because you have better options? If no Jennings, flexing him over Malcom Floyd/Kenny Britt. If you don't start him with Jennings out, why is he even on your roster?
If last week is any indication, the Packers top 3 WR's all had roughly the same amount of snaps. Remove Jennings and you'd think Nelson, Jones and Cobb would likely have similar workloads this week. The interesting tidbit to me is that the Bears biggest achilles heal last year on defense was that they couldn't stop the Packers over the middle - where you'd likely see Finley and Cobb. All are very intriguing plays, though.it's the uptick in targets that's most important.which should happenHe basically started the first game, too. Of course a lot of people have better options... Those who drafted WR's early and often. This thread is for those who drafted RB's and elite QB's/TE's early and waited on WR's. In this case, a James Jones (who may have been drafted in the final few rounds as a lottery ticket) is an exiciting prospect to consider over some of the middle round WR's. If James Jones doesn't mean much to your team because you already have Calvin, Fitz, Julio, and AJ, you are wasting your time reading up on James Jones.Because you have better options? If no Jennings, flexing him over Malcom Floyd/Kenny Britt. GB played the bears last year with Jennings out, week 15Nelson: 115yds/2tdsJordy will see most of the coverage. Jones and Cobb will outproduce him tonight.
On paper, I would agree. If you're a defensive coordinator going against the Packers, the only thing you should care about is taking away the big play over the top. If the Packers want to give Cobb the ball around the line of scrimmage, you give them that all day long and hope they bog dog or turn the ball over at some point. There's just no excuse for letting Jordy Nelson torch teams over the top every game like they did last year.Jordy will see most of the coverage. Jones and Cobb will outproduce him tonight.
I get that, a lot depends on how deep the rosters are in a league.Because you have better options? If no Jennings, flexing him over Malcom Floyd/Kenny Britt. If you don't start him with Jennings out, why is he even on your roster?
Ruvell Martin isn't near the talent James Jones is. I don't think that's a comparable analogy.Once upon a time, I started Ruvell Martin because Jennings was hurt.
same.I gonna roll him in 1 league over Maclin.
Missed that. Sorry. Guess I was surprised someone actually started Ruvell Martin in a fantasy league once upon a time.Yes I may have mentioned that in a later sentence.
so only if i have those 4 WRs? good, i'm safe. i can still participate in this thread.:whew:Of course a lot of people have better options... Those who drafted WR's early and often. Agree. i think they intend to give driver more time if Jennings is out.Overall, I don't care much for playing Jones tonight. In addition to all stated above, I think if the Packers get a chance, they will make a point to get Benson involved (I doubt they want to have two weeks into the season appearing to be a pass-only team). I think Benson will have some motivation in him tonight for a couple of reasons, and IF that transpires, that's a TD or 2 that comes out of the equation. If Jennings sits:Nelson and Jones will get the same playing time they got last week.Cobb will get similar snaps with a slight uptick.Driver will get a huge uptick and take most of Jennings PT.All that said, the question is who will get the most looks, since Jennings is the #1 or #2 option on most plays? My guess is Cobb will be the one to benefit most, but don't be shocked if Driver comes out of the grave and puts up a good game.
Rolling with him over Jennings.JJ got at least a couple of deep looks to the end zone last week against the Niners IIRC.'moleculo said:same.'bicycle_seat_sniffer said:I gonna roll him in 1 league over Maclin.
Did the exact same thing. Who's smarter than us?'SameSongNDance said:After looking at Jones' stats when Jennings has sat, specifically vs. CHI, I'm confidently giving him the nod over Maclin. Good luck to all those in a similar positions as me.![]()
Essentially everyone else. Luckily, I was facing Arod so it may be a wash in the end. This game was just awful from a fantasy perspective.Did the exact same thing.
