Jaquizz Rodgers (1 Viewer)

In dynasty leagues, if Turner carries on like last year for the first half of the season, Quizz could become the ultiamte buy low around week 6/7.

Part of me thinks they are forcing receptions to Turner this pre season to try and make defenses repsect that option when he is on the field the first few weeks.

Its very much a  right now, and a lot of us are watching.

The real wildcard of course is if they go RB in round 1 or 2 next year, then all this talk has been worthless.

Evan Silva's a moron.
Yeah that sounds like a pretty crazy thing to think as a possibility....that they would just cut a guy who's averaging 1300 - 1400 yards and 10 or so TD's the last couple of years to take a chance on an unproven guy. People have been saying for a couple of years that Turner is slowing down and has nothing left but he keeps producing. Maybe this will be the year he hits the wall? It's a possibility...but I can't imagine just assuming that and flat out cutting him.

Florio said that not Silva right?Turner is pretty much out of the cut discussion IMOPerhaps if Snelling was healthy and had been practicing all summer. But that is not the case IIRC.

Yeah, I don't think it's worth discussing at all. Sounds ridiculous. I'm not sure who said it. Maybe Silva but Florio reported it. But is Silva with Rotoworld? Cause I know rotoworld has been down on Turner for a while. All last season their reports were talking about how slow he is and how owners should get out while they can, all the while he still put together solid game after game.

 :lmao: It was hilarious game after game after game after game, they'd be put their analysis game after game that his home run ability was gone....then he'd break off a 40+ yard TD...then another. They had their analysis written before watching the game....or just didn't watch at all.Dude has scored 10+ TD in 4 straight seasons. He lead the league in 2011 in yards after contact. He's still the goalline back in a very very good upcoming offense. He's ran at a 4.5 ypc clip last year. The huge sleeper (Quizz) ran at 3.6 ypc. (So even if you want to use the Turner tapered off comment....he still was no worse than Quizz running)Turner's shown to be amongst the more durable backs in the league. Playing all 16 games in 3 of his 4 ATL seasons. Even if he runs at 3.7 ypc (let's say for example), he's gonna get his double digit TD's again. The cut comment is so idiotic considering Snelling's been out all preseason. D'mitri Nance time then??? Turner's carries are gonna go down / Quizz's will go up -- I don't think anyone's debating that will happen. Making the Turner cut so funny is that Quizz has shown absolutely nothing running the football to date!! Turner's "leaving yards out on the field", yet Rodgers averaged 3.6 YPC last year....and doing again this preseason.---------Florio reported that Evan Silva remarked Turner could be cut.

It was crazy wasn't it? He'd have a 100 yard game and they'd write how he still got 100 yards in spite of his lead feet, or how he crawled his way there, or how it more of a defensive breakdown and so one. It went on like that all season. Made me realize these so called experts are human and some of them want so badly to hold onto their predictions that they let it influence their job. I agree Rogers will likely eat up some of Turner's carries. Not sure how much or how fantasy relevant he'll be this year. But I think Rogers definitely makes a nice handcuff or a good lottery ticket stash.

Marshall Faulk just said on NFL GameDay Morning that Rodgers should be the starter and Turner the change-of-pace.

I think this should be about a 50/50 split for touches. Quizz is by far the better receiver and I think he would do great with some run outsides or draws. Turner should be the short yardage, and game finisher. This way Turner stays healthy and Quizz isn't exposed because he isn't a great runner between the tackles yet. Having said that, I think Quizz could learn to run between the tackles or at least get a little better. (Think of Willie Parker, and Jerome Bettis for the Steelers.)

Its not crazy. Quizz was a workhorse in college. Turner could stay fresh, short yardage, and GL.
Except for you know, Turner being a better runner than Quizz. Quizz hasn't shown much at all running the ball.
Turner is likely still a better runner than Quizz in a power running offense; but the discussion centered around Koetter's no-huddle and how Quizz is a better fit for it. As someone who owns both in various leagues I can definitely see this as a real possibility, even likely before too long. In the short term, I am considering starting Quizz in one league over Lynch and Kevin Smith, simply because I expect Atlanta to throttle KC (which will be down something like 6 starters on D). It will get very ugly at Arrowhead and Quizz, whether he is the starter or not, should taste some of that.

This has been debated ad nauseum so I'll stick to the point. My take on Quizz is purely from watching most every one of his games in college. He was a workhorse, between the tackles, durable RB in college. He may not have top end speed, but he's got great wiggle, and he can find a crease and head downhill. Look, maybe he wont pan out in the NFL. I think he could be successful with a good amount of touches. If you let him pound away and get him involved in the passing game, he'll find the creases.

He could be a decent start this week?

Looks like they are starting to get him more involved in the offense and they are playing a bad Carolina D.

Wondering if anyone thinks he'll continue to see more snaps and playing time and if he's starting to become fantasy relevant.

It says he played 34 snaps while Turner played 32.

Atlanta was up 21-3 in the 4th and got a turnover. We saw 3 Turner carries on 3 plays for 32 yards and the TD. Quiz got the rock after that but didn't do anything.I'm a Quiz fan but that type of thing from Turner is what Atlanta is looking for. We would have to assume Turner is here to stay until we see otherwise.

Seemed he was somewhat effective in the passing game. Looking at the play by play they got him the ball a few times on the first drive and he got in the endzone on that drive.

For me, he is a must start this week.
Is that must: 'I have no other options' or must: 'This guy is gold this week'?
I have no other rb's available :P BUTCarolina is ranked 18th against the pass. They have given up 20 receptions for a total 168 yards to RBs.Of course the one game Sproles had 13 catches for 128 yards. I think in PPR he could be a RB2 this week easily....

I could see this turn into a little like NO backfield, but not as bad. Turner used in short yardage and burn the clock mode. Rodgers used more when they are behind or even. A very very light sprinkle of Snelling in there too.

I've been hanging onto him in a league where I drafted Chris Johnson. So tempted to start him over CJ this week. Dare me to do it?
