Smells like chicken
still with Cobb & Finley out, being Rodgers 3rd option is that bad
essentially = James Jones + (with Finley out)still with Cobb & Finley out, being Rodgers 3rd option is that bad
Jordy Nelson may play a lot in the slot going forwardBoykin is currently filling the James Jones role. When he returns, Boykin will either have to move to the slot (where he has never played) or he will have a diminished role.As long as Cobb is out I don't see what's the James Jones presence has to do with Boykin (without the S)whats the word on James Jones? with the Monday Night Game it might be hard to know if you should play Boykins or not
Sooooo...I think people are overrating Jones, based mainly on his 14 TDs last year. He's generally not been a target monster, but more of a big play, high risk/high reward guy. Maybe he becomes a bigger target guy with Cobb and Finley out, but there seems room for Boykin to produce.
i'd say it's possible but not likely.Any chance of 2 tds tonight?
Not possible! ARod loves Jordy too much to share throwing the ball in the redzone to anyone else. I would double Jordy and make Rodgers throw elsewhere.i'd say it's possible but not likely.Any chance of 2 tds tonight?
Better try to get outside...cause pounding up the middle with the way Raji, Daniels, Jolly and all are playing might not be the best Idea. Id seriously try to attack the LBs as that is where GB is hurting most on D.If the Bears DC has half a brain, he'll put Tillman on Jordy to lock him down (look at C. Johnson's career numbers vs. the Bears when Peanut is healthy) - presuming Tillman's knee is healthy enough for him to handle the assignment. That should give Boykin some decent looks in the passing game, as the rest of the Bears secondary is fairly meh. Tim Jennings is undersized (which plays nicely into the fact that Boykin is a big WR) - and the Chicago safeties are simply terrible.
All of that said, if the Bears OC has half a brain, they will pound the ball, try to control the clock and limit how often Rodgers is on the field.
Id do that too...but it has little to do with Rodgers loving Nelson too much to share in the redzone. Not possible! ARod loves Jordy too much to share throwing the ball in the redzone to anyone else. From what I saw Nelson wasn't that open either. Rodgers just fired the ball right by the D before they could do anything about it.Id do that too...but it has little to do with Rodgers loving Nelson too much to share in the redzone. Not possible! Has more to do with Boykin and White not getting open as well (as seen last week).
Well yes...obviously he would have a bit more comfort level with Nelson making that catch. From what I saw Nelson wasn't that open either. Good thing about WRs there's always a 2 week wonder, waiting in the wings.![]()
It was a helluva 2-week run!
Pretty much how I see it.Cut for cooper. Thanks for 2 good games......next
I'm looking for better options.Backside Pursuit said:What's the thinking here now? Is Boykin a HOLD for the FF playoffs or is it time to drop him to the WW, knowing that his value is likely to be low for the next 3-4 weeks? By the time Rodgers returns, Randall Cobb will likely return also, won't he?
There might be something there but it's difficult to trust consistent production from this duo.bicycle_seat_sniffer said:Well now that tolzien is in there. Should we re-think the Jarret Boykin position?
Werent Tolz & Boykin on the practice squad together?
Seems like they had a chemistry vs the Eagles.
Not that you can count on Tolz to be even a decent option.
thoughts?
Me too. He might have helped me win, if I kept him and started him. Not sure, but with this season, not caring at all anymore. And beyond the statistics, he looked consistently excellent yesterday.

Nice grab, but I'm surprised it wasn't reversed. Looks like he landed out of bounds. And beyond the statistics, he looked consistently excellent yesterday.
