im thinking about trading for this guy, but i havent seen him play too much. dont like making high value trades w/out being well informed. How has this guy looked on the field thus far, what are his prospects?

He's good. Some here in Philly think he's better than Desean. I think he can be eventually but not yet. He benefits when Desean's in there because he get single coverage while DJax takes the double. Can't really go wrong at the WR2 position with a guy like this.

He's got the all around package. Great route runner, fast, has some size to break tackles. He kind of reminds me of Anquan Boldin a little bit. Think he is going to be a great WR for a long time with the Eagles. But that's looking at through my Midnight/Kelly Green glasses :yucky:

Although the Boldin comparison is true with RAC ability, he has more of a traditional skill set and is MUCH faster. He has excellent hands, and is very, very young. He worked in a spread offense in college and was extremely raw coming out, so to perform as he has is very impressive. He has huge potential to be a top 10 WR for years, and is already performing as a decent #2 WR right now.

They used him for everything in Mizzou. He ran the ball, caught passes out of the backfield, ran deep routes, ran intermediate routes, catches everything, has insane speed, and has very good size. He's about as prototypical as you'd like your WR to be. He's been great this year and catches very well.

A Boldin? I think he is more similar to R Wayne or T Holt. Good routes and hands. I think he has better and quickness and speed than those guys which allows him to run away from people. I don't feel he has the physical stature of a Boldin or T.O. type. He should continue to get more productive as long as the QB is decent.

It's true that he is an all around better WR than DeSean and a better/bigger Redzone threat. While DeSean is much more explosive he commands more attention from the safeties which does help out Maclin on the other side. In terms of fantasy, i think Maclin is breaking out this year and is much more consistent from week to week than DeSean Jackson. DeSean is capable of putting up a few huge games but then will limited in others while Maclin will be more steady from week to week.

If you can get Maclin go out and get him. It really doesn't matter if Vick or Kolb is the QB as he has been performing with both QB's. DeSean probably has more upside with Vick at QB, scrambling and looking for the homerun ball since he can get behind anyone, even when double covered and Vick has the arm to get it to him down the field.

At the end of the season, I think Maclin will end up with more points than Jackson but both will be top 10-12WR's.

Drafted both he and Desean in a start up dynasty this year, I think they have potential to be the next great WR duo and they're on the perfect team for it, regardless of QB

Only thing to worry about is if Andy Reid doesn't remain coach. If a new HC comes in and isn't a fan of the WCO, it would hurt their numbers. Coaching changes can't be predicted, but it just feels like Reid's run is coming to an end sooner rather than later.

Maclin? hmmmm - what's he worth this year? A Lee Evans?

I'm intrigued - not sure what kind of numbers he can put up the rest of the way thought - maybe top 12?

Only thing to worry about is if **** Jauron replaces Andy Reid as coach. Most anyone else will want to exploit the talent they have, and in Maclin's case it is substantial.

I think he's extremely impressive. Without Desean around, it looked like he could care less.

Most important for me is it seems like he always has fun. I mean there aren't many Eagles smiling when they are in an NFC East slugfest with the Cowboys or Giants, but there he is smiling anyway. Those guys that know how to have fun and enjoy life (with already an impressive skillset, work ethic and production) seem to develop wonderfully.

Now that DJ and MV are about to come back, does Maclin become a 2nd half monster? He's had some up and down games this year. Just wondering what people who follow him think about his situation in the coming weeks.

This is great and will help me set my lineup when PHI plays Old Miss. :lmao: :)

I asked a similar quesiton in a thread talking about DJax's health. Apparently, the majority of MV's passing yards are outside the hashes, which benefits DJax and the majority of Kolb's passing yards were between the hashes, which benefitted Maclin. While I believe that both WRs are good starts, particularly this week against a high scoring Indy O, I think that DJax gets the slight bump from MV at QB.

I like Maclin and have watched every one of his games. I am less enthusiastic about is top10 prospects that some other posters in here. I don't think he gets enough looks when Desean is on the field. I see Maclin somewhere in the 20-25 range here on out.

I think Boldin is a fair comparison but Maclin is so young. I believe he's going to be a top 15 WR for years to come. Not a top 5 though. Great speed, his route running skills have improved a lot this season and he's learning to find the open holes. He was pretty far down in my draft so he's my 4th WR right now behind Nicks,Austin and TO but I can make a case to start him over TO some weeks. If you are in a dynasty league and can keep him I believe his value will continue to increase over the next two seasons. I don't see Andy going anywhere so the offense should be the same for him for a few years.

Solid performer, good upside and is a threat in the red zone.

in that case, he also did kickoff and punt returns at mizzou

How has that worked out for you? (Genuine Q) Everyone spends plenty of time predicting one will do well (he or Desean) but when ya need both to do well each week, that's gotta be a different story.Doesn't it just seem easier to trade one? Or are you convinced this is or will be something like Fitz and Boldin?

When he was on the field with Desean and Kolb, his looks were limited. When Vick came in, he got more looks, still with Desean on the field. Once Desean left, his looks went up more even with Kolb. So bottom line...everything is too small of a sample but I think the individual progression has been good.
