Jermaine Phllips, TB SS (1 Viewer)

Phillips was signed to a long term contract last year and is slated to start at SS for Tampa Bay. This will increase his run support and blitzing opportunities. I'm a little surprised this guy is ranked so low. Only one staff member, Bob Magaw, even has this guy in their DB rankings and even Bob has him ranked very low (#49). Looks like Phillips is very underrated in my opinion. Am I missing something?

Look at the history of the safeties in TB. I don't think they have ever been very big FF producers.

i dont think so. he is extremely underrated. I do think he's in danger of donte nicholson stealing his job long term, but he should be solid for this year.

I'm not a huge fan, but I could easily see him being a top 45 DB. I do think that his upside is limited.

In our scoring in the games Phillips played in last season he averaged about 11 pts a game now do the math over a whole season that isn't exactly small potatoes. We have 2 pts per tackle. 1 pt per assist, .05 per 1 sack, 1 pt PD, 3 pts interception, 2 pts FF and 3 pts FR. I have him and will keep him as a backup for this year. My 2 cents
