Jerome Harrison to start if Droughns out (1 Viewer)

I watched the game and here are the things I took away from what I saw. One of Harrisons 2 carries went for negative yards as he was met in the backfield. I believe that had Harrison gotten all the carries he still would not have done any better than the 2 yards a carry that was posted behing that horrible (yes I said it horrible) O-line. Of the times Harrison was used as a check down reciever it seemed that Charlie Frye was more interested in pushing the ball down the field to his talented WR and TE. I also strongly belive that Frye is gonna get killed behind that line if the RB's dont help ALOT more with pass protection! Charlie took a licking yesterday, but stood in there and made chicken salad out of you know what. Finally, I dont think that Jerome Harrison is the type of RB you would want to feature against Baltimore when you have the previously noted mitigating circumstances. Romeo knew this and made a good adjustment going with his other big back.

Just one slight difference:

Droughns was runnng behind the Broncos outstanding offensive line

Harrison will be running behind an incomplete, avg- Browns offensive line
Well, the Line this year is IMPROVED with Shaffer at LT when it comes to Run-Blocking. And Droughns had 1,600 Yards last year. So, they can't be THAT BAD.And Harrison WILL take Droughns' Job THIS YEAR.

Reuben Droughns is the SLOWEST Starting Rb ion the NFL. He can't hit holes quick enough and RARELY hits the 2nd level. HArrison hits the hole quick, while it's actually still there. He reminds me of Tiki Barber with slightly less tackle breaking ability.

He can be a vialbe RB2 down the stretch this year. Running and recieving yards will pile up in November.

DROUGHNS SUCKS!!
The one thing I can guarantee you is Droughns is faster than Jamal Lewis, that guy is sloooooow.

Any Browns homers hear an update on Droughns' status for next week? I can't find anything online anywhere.

Thanks in advance. :)

As a Browns homer, I've posted in other threads regarding the RB situation. Sorry for those who did not catch it. I'm not sure where some got the notion that Harrison was the backup to Droughns. It has been evident throughout the preseason that Wright was the primary backup to Droughns. He is not as talented but he is durable and reliable, hence the cutting of ties with Suggs who has yet to have a healthy season dating back to his highschool years. Green has also been dinged up most of his NFL career. Harrison has been the Browns 3rd down and long / change of pace back pretty much all season / preseason. He didn't see the field much yesterday because there was no running game at all. Our O-line was simply outmatched by the Ravens. And on 3rd down, the Browns focused more on getting the ball to their receivers and tight end. There were very few balls thrown to the RB's. I expect Droughns to be back next week with Harrison maintaining his current role. Wright may spell Droughns a few times if he gets winded.
