Jerry Porter signs with Jacksonville Jaguars (1 Viewer)

Too bad, so sad, buh-bye!
The Autumn Wind is a pirateBlustering in from seaWith a rollicking song he sweeps alongswaggering boisterouslyHis face is weather beatenHe wears a hooded sashWith his silver hat about his headAnd a bristly black moustacheHe growls as he storms the countryA villain big and boldAnd the trees all shake and quiver and quakeAs he robs them of their goldThe Autumn wind is a RaiderPillaging just for funHe'll knock you 'round and upside downAnd laugh when he's conquered and won Written by Steve Sabol Narrated by John Facenda.

This looks really bad for Mike Walker ...
I know. I was really high on Walker, and stillw as even after the injury, but I started to cool a little after I read he had another knee operation. I get the feeling his situation is more serious than the Jags had initially let on. Williamson's signing means nothing to me because he is a bust. But Porter is a good receiver, and could block Walker.

For those of you interested in the financial details here ya go.

JERRY IS A JAG

The Jaguars continue to re-make a receiving corps that isn't as well known for catching football as they are for, well, not catching them.

Though trading for Troy Williamson wasn't exactly the way to improve the overall quality of the hand-eye coordination at the skill positions, signing Jerry Porter should help. A lot.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Jags have reached an agreement with Porter on a six-year deal worth $30 million, with $10 million in guaranteed money.

Porter was a chronic malcontent in Oakland, but he definitely has talent. A good Jacksonville offense will be better with him on the team.
:goodposting: Seems like an odd fit for a Jack Del Rio led team.

Seems like a desperation move to me. They'd have been better off offering 4 year $40Mil. to Moss with $25 Mil guaranteed.

As a Colts fan, I like that the Jags are pinning their hopes on Porter/Williamson/Williams.
