Jimmy Graham - Saints TE (1 Viewer)

just saw this on rotoworld:

Jeremy Shockey - TE

Unless he's willing to play for much less than the $4.2 million he's currently slated to make in 2011, Jeremy Shockey is a strong candidate to be released this offseason.

Jimmy Graham's huge finish to the season has made Shockey very expendable. With David Thomas also having him in years and affordability, Shockey could be gone from New Orleans even if he's willing to take a massive pay-cut. Wherever he ends up playing in 2011, his days as a fantasy stalwart are long gone.

I can't see any way Shockey stays at that cap number. The Saints have alot of holes on D, don't need to be spending that money on a tight end when the duo of Graham and Thomas would be fine.

Very happy with that news as a Graham owner.

He was the 3rd TE off the board in a dynasty startup draft last week, behind only Gates & Finley. Now I like Graham, but can't see taking him over Vernon Davis. Could maybe justify putting him above Clark & Witten due to age, but Vernon is young.

V Davis has no QB.

He didn't have one last year either, but still put up 78-965-13. Saints have so many weapons, it's hard to rely on anybody other than Colston.

In weeks 9-16 Graham averaged 10.6ppg (ppr)...this is relevent because this is when his role expanded...he actually averaged more than Davis 9.7 during that timeframe. Davis did average 11.1 (wk 1-16). I'm not saying draft Graham over Davis, but the difference is a lot less than people think.I would actually let someone draft Davis and then get Graham in the next round.
