Jodi Arias case (1 Viewer)

I've been watching today. The "expert" on the stand is very much in control of her thoughts and statements. Very unlike the two "experts" the defense team rolled out. I find her to be believable and a non bias witness. The last two people I watched came off very bias which in my mind (if I were a juror) makes them less believable.

Willmott: "So you can't get any information from someone who isn't alive?"

Witness: "Right, because they aren't alive."

I know what she was trying to say there, but it just came off so freaking stupid.

Defense has no choice because they have nothing on this witness. I'm curious to know if there are any juror questions. I'm thinking we won't see 100 for her because she despite her age/experience is much more credible than the 2 biased bozos before her.

It's painful to watch.

I think they said there are only a handful of questions that have been submitted.

Can't wait to hear the juror questions. I can't watch it anymore. I just pop over to see if it's done. I got enough gist as to what the defense has which is basically nada.

Did you watch the juror questions?

If you were attacked by a bear and wrote it was a tiger on your test would you invalidate it?

There were several good ones.

Ah! I missed it! I tuned back in when Juan was back on. What was her answer to that?

She said she would invalidate any test where there was false information. She would expect a tiger to be an different experience. Smell different, feel different, etc.

Edit: there were only about 10 questions give or take a few.

Thanks. Good sign for Juan I think with 10 questions vs 100+ with the defense witnesses.

I think she will get murder 2 especially with this borderline dx coming into play. Jury may look at perhaps she can be rehabbed, like with therapy and meds since she is young and well, attractive. I think with these psych witnesses going back and forth over she has BPD, no she has PTSD, it's real hard to say this or that without a reasonable doubt. It's almost like they are cancelling each other out. Unfortunately the case has gotten away from the evidence of the event itself. It's become more like what is wrong with Jodi and did it really cause her to fear for her life or is she just a diabolical killer that didn't get her man so no one else can. We'll see.

What does her being attractive have to do with anything? She ain't all that in the looks department, but even if she was, she is a sociopath.

The jury will be specifically instructed that they cannot consider punishment and they will not be told the class of felonies or the sentencing ranges for each.

No kidding, if she wasn't famous for her proclivities and for brutally murdering someone, she'd be a consensus 5.5 on the Offdee scale.

May 3 is minimum but the way it's going, it will go past that. Defense wants to bring in another witness, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Juan I believe has a couple more witnesses. Judge needs to decide if manslaughter will be admitted on the table. Defense wants to surrebuttal the prosecutors rebuttal because the psych chic made a borderline dx on Jodi Arias and that's something new.

Does your 5.5 rating factor in that she is a 3 hole wonder or are you basing it on looks alone? If looks alone, what would you increase her ranking to?

We are probably in about the 6th inning of this 9 inning contest that could very well go into extra innings.

Woz, why was the Prosecution able to call the detective to the stand? He has been sitting by Juan every single day of the trial.

Jury questions for the detective were heavy for the prosecution.

Question: Jodi testified she helped Travis store things in the attic. Was there anything in the attic?

Answer: No

Question: Was the attic capable of storing things?

Answer: There are beams but the rest is sheet rock. So if it was light, maybe.

Question: Was there any evidence anywhere in the house that Travis owned a gun?

Answer: No

Question: Was there any evidence that any of Travis's roommates owned guns?

Answer: No

Question: Are the pins on the shelves round all the way to the end?

Answer: Yes.

All of those seem to be pro prosecution to me. Maybe pro murder 1. I'm no lawyer, but that is the way they read to me.

Next week is it! Judge announced the schedule. Court dark Mon/Tues. Wed more witnesses and will go however long it takes. Thurs and Fri are closing arguments and Mon jury gets the case. :towelwave:

In Arizona at the start of trial the prosecution can appoint one police officer as the "case officer."* Generally, that's the lead detective or arresting officer. The case officer can then sit with the prosecutor throughout the entire trial and not be asked to leave the courtroom with the other witnesses. The case officer can still testify as any normal witness would.

If the case officer testified today he was probably testifying as a rebuttal witness (I only follow the trial to the extent of what I read in here and what I hear around the courthouse in lawyer gossip, so I don't have a clue what happened today).

* The defense can, in fairness, have a private investigator or paralegal sit at the defense table with them too.

What's your guess as to how the jury is out? Based on the amount of testimony.

How long the jury will be out deliberating? Hard to say. My guess is maybe a day or two?. The shorter the time they take, the better it is for the prosecution I would think. If they are like me, I had my mind made up awhile ago. No one can change my mind about it should be murder 1.

If common sense prevails, about 30 -60 minutes. The longer it goes on the better for the defense.
I was going to write something like this, like a couple hours, but I'm thinking there is probably 1 on the jury that may be feeling sorry for her or actually believe her story... who knows when you are dealing with 12 people collectively.

For a case like this 30-60 minutes seems unrealistically quick, even for a no-brainer case. They have to elect a foreman, use the restroom, etc. And, in my experience, most juries will at least talk about things and go through some of the evidence. A quick verdict to me here would be 2-4 hours.

Well, I had meant for the "proclivities" euphemism to include the 3 hole wonder aspect of Jodi's skillset.

I was basing the ranking on looks alone - so no bump for notoriety.

In her older photos, she was maybe a 6.5.

Now, if she wasn't infamous, she'd be a 6 max.

FINALLY! Serious eye candy for me! Dr. Kevin the medical examiner.... You're missing out by hiding in your hair again and doing your fake crying. Oh wait, it's because what he's saying is hopefully is another nail in your coffin! :excited:

Trial resumes Wednesday with the defense's psych witness on the stand to refute prosecutor's psych witness. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Maybe that's why juror 8 was dismissed, maybe he let out a loud sigh upon hearing defense has another psych witness coming on Wed! :excited: Hopefully no more jurors will drop from exhaustion. :o

How touching......... the defense lawyers and Jodi all wearing black today to show they are in mourning as the medical examiner goes through the details of the gruesome cruel killing. :coffee:

9 men 6 women left. They don't know yet. It was a guy who sat in the front row and submitted a lot of questions.
Wonder if he was the guy that submitted the 'can I get PTSD from a bad haircut?' question. Yeah someone actually asked that.

Seems juror 8 was dismissed due to a dui charge. Poor guy probably needed a drink after listening to the loooooooooooooooong boooooooooooooooooooooooring defense witnesses as of late!

Apparently juror #8 submitted a lot of jury questions. :( I hope he wasn't the snarky question person.
They said he was the lead juror of the pack. Also Jodi's art are NOT original pieces as she claims, seems she's been copying photos from magazines! Jodi's latest tweet: " I'm working on a little project that is going to help support domestic violence shelters.I'm hoping it'll be off the ground this coming week." :excited:

So now we have a neuropsychologist defense expert on the stand. I can't stand Willmott so I'm not watching. Will watch when Juan can shred him.

Anyone know if judge is allowing Juan's neuropsych witness in today?

What a marathon day! Started at 9 am and it's still going! Didn't tune in until around 9 pm and saw same neuropsych dude that started the day was on until 10pm. He never met Jodi so defense feels can't say Jodi worked him over. He interpreted the test results as ptsd and not bpd. Juan poked holes in it but not sure if it stuck. He was really good at handling Juan, not like the violet and bozo. Dr. cuuuuuuuuuuute! medical examiner was next. Poor guy made a typo error in his report and defense is all over it. He reviewed his report a few times before and didn't catch it. It was in relation to whether the bullet penetrated the durameter (lining of brain), asked by a juror. (damn juror) He put it didn't but it had to in order to go through the brain. Being this was from a juror at 10:30 pm, who knows what this person is thinking since bozo psych was killed by Juan for some mistakes in his testing. You know defense is going to bring this up, that who knows how the bullet really did travel (what other mistakes are in the report) and too he's only testifying to his experience and training, apparently he doesn't keep up with research that it is possible for a person hit in the frontal lobe to still be functioning. Didn't look good for Juan imo in the end.

Now the last prosecution witness, a neuropsych dudette. This chic is basically talking about the validity of the test when someone is lying. Also the prior one had trouble telling what the difference between exaggeration vs lie.

Not sure I'm going to sit to the end. It's sooooooooooooooo repetitive and after Juan it will be cross then redirect, juror ques, and on. This thing is going to go for awhile. At least with cutie he was on before 2 times so it went quick, this is a new person so zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Closing arguments start at 9am PT and poor Juan goes first. Man, how he'll have the energy to go through a day of closing! Wish he was last!

I wonder if Jodi was allowed to eat dinner for this currently 14 hour long day and counting...

Too many experts on what is wrong with Jodi. Who really cares what her problem is anyway? I think the jury has to sick of this crap. Let's get this thing to the jury for the guilty verdict.

At one point, he was firing off the 'no's to Juan's questions and Juan had to revert to a different set of questions.

No

Well didn't you say blah blah blah

No.

And isn't it true that blah blah blah

no

Is your name Robert Geffner

Yes.

A-ha!
