When John Kirby gets up on the podium and says "we have no idea what these are, but by looking at citizen images you have nothing to worry about" you know this is a massive lie. That was the worst cover job I've ever seen from a govt. official. Hysterical that anyone would bite and give that a shred of credibility.

I read recently how Colorado(and maybe Nebraska) went thru this four years ago. After all the "who is doing it" they seemed to settle on a military person neither confirming nor denying it was them.

This entire thing just seems silly to me and is a reflection of how people feel about both parties of government. Most people just want honest real answers. We get told riddles that are said to be in our best interest. Just silly.

Side note. Years ago I was attached to a military drone unit in Iraq. This was 20 years ago and they were amazing. Fast forward 20 years and I can only imagine what the capabilities are today. I feel a large portion of the public think 200 dollar Walmart drones when the topic comes up. That's far from the case.

Yep. Same. We're under the Newark approach. My neighbor and I both use FlightAware to track planes vs. just assuming when we're looking up for things. It's pretty easy to see what's a commercial flight and what isn't. That doesn't rule out all aircraft, as a lot of private planes don't have to file flight plans...but...in this area, this close to Newark and the NY airspace, you can only fly up to a certain altitude without ATC contact. It's basically an inverted wedding cake over the airport in terms of controlled airspace - the higher you go, the further out the controlled space - so that means anything you see around where I am that isn't on FlightAware is relatively low.

I have my private pilot's license - so while I'm far from an expert in drone spotting, I've spent time in the sky at night to be able to tell what "looks" like aircraft based on lights, and at least directionally feel like I can judge altitude and speed well enough to rule out certain things.

There are things up there that are relatively low and fly too slow to be a plane, but are a bit small to be a full-on helicopter - so I'm pretty confident there are drones up there unless this is some kind of new personal hover-capable piloted craft.

I am from Nebraska, and we did indeed go through this a few years ago. My wife even witnessed a large drone driving home from work one evening. It was all over the news locally and the local authorities had no answers. Then they were gone and never spoken about again. We still don't know where they originated from or what they were doing.

I read recently how Colorado(and maybe Nebraska) went thru this four years ago. After all the "who is doing it" they seemed to settle on a military person neither confirming nor denying it was them.

I am from Nebraska, and we did indeed go through this a few years ago. My wife even witnessed a large drone driving home from work one evening. It was all over the news locally and the local authorities had no answers. Then they were gone and never spoken about again. We still don't know where they originated from or what they were doing.

I find this so interesting and I wonder how it relates.
If you asked me another time I would have said there's no way this could happen with today's social media and tech and we don't know what's what. Add in the FOIA organizations and...it's so surprising

IMO the drones are practicing scanning for gamma radiation. It's a classified program so they can't acknowledge it.
