Joe Jurevicius? (1 Viewer)

What kind of numbers can we expect from Joe J. when he returns from his rib injury? Does he have any fantasy value, as a #3 or 4 WR?

He's probably on lots of waiver wires now because many owners dropped him with the initial prognosis of 4-6 weeks, but now it looks like he'll be back alot sooner.

Your thoughts??

I am still dropping Jurevicius for Winslow. He will still be out at least 2 games. By the time he comes back, Frye will already have chemistry w/ his 2 favorite targets in K2 & Edwards. JJ will be the 3rd option in the passing game. He may be an OK bye week filler, but not a WR3.

I think he was a kneejerk drop. With the new medical news I would actively seek him out on all WW's if you have some trash on your roster that is expendable.

why would someone have a player they considered "trash" on their roster in the first place?

JJ had 0 catches last week. When did he get the injury? Did he even have any targets? I dropped him for A. Smith QB SF. I expected atleast a catch vs N.O. but again I don't know when he got hurt.

i think it was half way through the 1st quarter
(4:38) C.Frye pass to J.Jurevicius to NO 25 for 20 yards (J.Bullocks). PENALTY on CLV-C.Coleman, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NO 45 - No Play.

sorry miss mannersIf you took a questionable flier, I would swap for JJ if on WW.(This is for anyone that did not get a 100% perfect draft whose team actually contains reaches and has not been affected by injury)Sorry for not qualifying my thought y'all :sarcasm:

sorry miss manners
that's ms.
Most women style themselves either "Miss" or "Mrs". However, in some circles the title is now standard, for instance in business — and where one may not know or find relevant the marital status of the woman so addressed. The default use of Ms is championed by a number of etiquette writers, including Judith Martin (Miss Manners). As you can see the "miss manners" only paid homage to ms. :bowtie: Anywho. I think JJ will be a reliable target for Frye in weeks to come.Thoughts? :banned:

Cleveland homers, any update over the week on the severity/healing time of JJ's rib injury? I know week to week now, but nothing new after that.

Is this guy worth a roster spot anymore ?
Depends if you have better options. He's #3 option on a team that will pass alot.
Soon to be #2, where they intended him to be...add that they brought him back slowly and the bad play of Northcutt...he should be good to go. Oh found this too...
Browns | Northcutt misses practice WednesdayWed, 18 Oct 2006 12:04:50 -0700Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns WR Dennis Northcutt (ribs) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

IMO B Edwards is likely going to begin drawing double coverage following his first 1/3 of the season, no?

If so, then I think JJ is a solid 2nd half sleeper. IMO Romeo is capable and will game plan him into the offense if BE is receiving the doubles.

Another reason to like Jurevicius is the Red Zone targets.

Week 5, he had 3 Red Zone targets (Winslow had 3 and Edwards had 1).

Week 6, he had zero, but that was because the Browns only had ONE Red Zone target all game (one to Edwards).

It's a small sample set obviously but I like the confidence they show in the "grizzled veterean".

from the blogger:

WR Jurevicius Elevated, WR Northcutt LimitedPatrick McManamon, Akron Beacon Journal - [Full Article]WR Joe Jurevicius will likely be in the starting lineup Sunday against the Broncos. WR Dennis Northcutt missed practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday with a rib injury, which moved Jurevicius up to the first team. "The odds are pretty good that he'll play and be a starter," HC Romeo Crennel said.

No you are wrong. Winslow and Edwards are the top two options in the passing game. But you are correct in saying JJ is the #2 WR right now.
