Anyone have any thoughts on galloway? Can he make any kind of fantasy impact this year? The Huddle is reporting Hilliard may be lost for the season.

News Articles > Hilliard denies he might miss rest Published Fri Nov 14 9:06:56 p.m. CT 2008

(TheHuddle) The Tampa Tribune reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Ike Hilliard (head) denied a report that suggested he was still suffering from the effects of a hit he took to the head in a game last month. Hilliard said, 'The quotes are correct, but there was nothing in my quotes that said anything about a concussion. I said I was dealing with some other stuff, wear and tear of the season. I did not say the word concussion.' A report in the St. Petersburg Times' website Monday, Nov. 10, said 'the hit that knocked Hilliard unconscious Oct. 19 could force him to miss some games and threatens to end his season.'

With a nice schedule coming up:

Week 11 Vikings

Week 12 Lions

Week 13 Saints

Week 14 Panthers

Week 15 Falcons

Week 16 Chargers

Is Galloway a shrewd shark play going forward????

I've had an eye on him - the issue with Galloway is not whether he can make an impact, but whether he wants to.

I don't think that's a fair assessment. No one has ever doubted Galloway's desire and when he's healthy, he usually produces. BUT the bigger issue is age and health. I view him like Fred Taylor......his best days are clearly behind him and he's al;ways nicked up a little. Galloway has always relied on lightning speed in the past and his mid-late 30's are catching up to him. He's missed a ton of time due to injuries, even last year he would practice lightly, if at all, durig the week, and somehow find his youth on Sundays.I'm very down on Galloway, but 90% of that is his health and age, not his desire or work ethic.

He played a game before his bye-week I believe and should be healthier now as Gruden wanted to phase him back in slowly. With Hillard banged up and possibly being shut down for the season, the RBs banged up as well forcing Garcia to throw more, does anyone agree the indicators point that Galloway's odds for success point in his favor?

I think he can help a lot of teams from here on out. Anybody starting him this week?

I can't say what he will do today, or for the rest of the year, but he is not the worst player you could have on your bench for the stretch run.

Normally it isn't - this year it is. There have been reports since training camp that Galloway doesn't have the desire to play this year. I think he is now healthy enough to play, yet he plays sparingly. He isn't even listed as injured anymore. Hilliard was injured and saw targets.I think it is a completely fair assessment of his current situation. I hope he gets a fire as we approach the FF playoffs, and I would like to see him playing hard again.

You may very well be right. Where was he today? No catches...nothing. Glad I didn't pick him up off of WW as I was struggling whether to do so or not.

No stats again. Whats going on down there? Is he even in the games?
Gruden has not really tried to get both Galloway and Bryant in the game at the same time. Last week, it was either/or...and Bryant won that battle 95% of the time.Galloway says he's healthy and ready...we'll see what Gruden thinks.

does galloway have any value at all now? he's what? 37.. hasnt had a catch in quite a few games. i have him in a dynasty league and was holdin on to him because i thought he would produce decently for another year or 2 but i think I'm almost at the point of just droppin him and takin a flyer on a young gun.

Gruden tailors his entire offense to the weapons that are working. I saw a picture of his playbook during Claytons rookie year, and 75% of the passing plays went to him. When Galloway emerged guess who all the plays went to? Now that Galloway has been gone for a while all the plays go to Bryant, and would probably require significant changes to the way the O is run to get JG the targets. He also may be in the dog house with Gruden, because Gruden is a coach that pressures players to play through injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't here next season.

Q is right...

I will say I saw Galloway on the field WITH Bryant for the first time that I've noticed on Sunday, instead of either/or. Maybe that will help get Joey more looks going forward.

But he also dropped his only target (that I can remember)....and a ball right in his chest...on a crucial drive that would have been for a first down. Could have been the difference in the game had the D not stepped up. Doesnt' look like he has any confidence.
