John Beason (1 Viewer)

Have you been asleep?

Beason has put up stupendous numbers as a MLB.

Now he is currently playing OLB an is still putting up solid numbers. (And TDavis may yet return)

>This year he has 28 total tackles and 2 PDs in 3 games.

>Last year he had 21 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 int and 1PD through three games.

>2 years ago had 25 total tackles and 1PD in 3 games.

he is the 18th best lb right now and he was drafted as the 2nd in almost every league.

The lb drafted 18th overall is almost certainly not the 18th (or better) lb in the league. Where you draft an lb (or a player in general) does not mean you expect them to finish in that position (or better) at the end of the season, statistically.

If I draft a player who is second at his position I expect to be in at least the top ten for that position

:wall:John is doinge exactly what John has always done. Your expectations are amiss, not John. You drafted a guy 2nd at his position -- who is playing in a different position then he had previously. So you were alseep. :bag:

He's playing in a position where Davis was also producing top 10 LB points...everyone expected Beason to remain elite. He is playing ok so far, but LBs are often affected by matchups. I'm benching him this week against NO because they lack a running game and will be slinging the ball around a lot. After that though, I like his matchups a lot better.

Beason started slow last year. His numbers will pick up when the Panthers offense forces the opponents to do anything at all that might involve risk. No risk by opponents' offense = no big plays for Beason in a big-play spot on the field in that defense.

I was aware that he switched positions, but thomas davis was elite when he was playing there so I thought it shouldn't really matter.

And last year Davis had 34 total tackles and 1 sack after three games.>This year Beason has 28 total tackles and 2 PDs in three games.Im just not seeing the issue. If Beason has 15 tackles, I would understand.
