Nobody is hammering home the part where Cutler and Bennett played together at Vanderbuilt?
I don't think that matters much. It didn't help David Terrell when he was on the Pats in 2005.
Earl Bennett has been buried on the depth chart - he had off-season knee surgury that he has been slow to come back from. In fact, he still isn't practicing on a regular basis, and is probably 5th on the depth chart right now. It took Bennett a full NFL season to learn the Ron Turner West Coast offense so there's also a valid concern on how fast Bennett will pick up the Martz offense. With him being out, that learning curve is probably even steeper. If he does contribute this season, it likely won't be in the first quarter of the NFL season.

Juaquin Iglesias cut

Another great call by JA and Lovie. Draft a receiver in the 3rd round in 09. Never plays a down, that I know of, and then cut him the next preseason. The ineptitude of this franchise has ceased to amaze me long ago. Last year, I was excited and really optimistic about how the season would unfold. This year, my expectations are lower than ever, and I honestly don't even care.

You'll be able to tell how good the Bears are right off the bat as they host the Detroit Lions. The Lions haven't won a road game since 2007, so needless to say if the Bears don't start off 1-0, things would certainly look bleak for the Bears of 2010.As far as Bears fantasy players, you have to be on all systems go for Week 1 with them playing the Lions. If you can't start them at home against the Lions, when do you think you'll feel confident enough in starting any of them? We've all heard Johnny Knox, Johnny Knox, Johnny Knox all preseason long......he has to have 100 yards and a TD, has to in Week 1.Same goes with the Lions. We've all heard that they're supposed to be much improved on offense. This shouldn't be a 17-14 game, if it is then I'd quickly temper any enthusiasm for many of these Wr's. The Detroit secondary and linebacking crew are absolutely horrible. The DL of the Lions are above average but the quick drop back type passing of Martz's offense should be perfect to kill that Lion secondary. I could see one of those Bears receivers getting 8 plus receptions in Week 1.And the Bears defense isn't THAT good. If Stafford has matured and is ready to take that step, he should have 250 plus yards and a miniumum of 2 TD passes.
