Jon Kitna death watch (1 Viewer)

This guy is getting CLOCKED every game. What's the over/under on what week he, and Detroit's playoff hopes, are history? I say he doesn't make it past Week 7. Too bad. The guy is a warrior.

I know that Philly had gotten to him a ton, but didn't think the other teams Det has played did. :goodposting:

I watched that whole game and alot of the punishment Kitna took was his fault. He held on to the ball way to long for alot of those sacks.

the lions offense runs so many deep routes the QB has to told onto it to let them develop. That was the problem in the old Rams days too. The QB gets hit alot

Mike Martz takes out multi million dollar insurance policies on every QB that plays in his system. He is bound to cash in some day!

I like his chances of outlasting Bulger.

His FFL stats have been way better too. Not bad for a QB going 2-4 rounds later.

That said any week could be his last (same with Bulger) the way he is getting knocked around.

Apparently Jeff "on his" Backus played the whole first half injured and was replaced in the 2nd half by 2nd year player Jonathon Scott. I didn't watch the whole debacle right through but I also heard something about Damian Woody leaving the game with an injury. I thought the O-line was much improved in the first 2 games over last year (mostly because they were healthy) and adding a new Woody (after fat camp) and Mulatalo significanlty improved them at guard. Foster seems to be decent at right tackle but I can see why Shannahan got so fed up with him. He takes so many useless penalties (false starts and illegal formation) it drives me absolutely insane.

Kitna is a tough guy.. but there's no way he survives this season uninjured.
I agree, he's very tough. However, like the title of this thread suggests....I expect him to be decapitated at some point this season. I'd be very nervous if he was my starting FF QB (I have him in one of my leagues, but I also have McNabb). If he misses any time, you'd have to downgrade everyone else on the offense.

I like to think of Jon Kitna as wearin' a Tuxedo T-shirt, 'cause it says, like, "I want to be formal, but I'm here to party too." I like to party, so I like my Kitna to party

if that was Sean Taylor, Kitna would be died.

Huh?

Kitna took much more abuse last season and played every snap.
Really?? I didn't think it could get much worse than getting sacked 9 times the week after he got knocked out of the game with a concussion.
Kitna was sacked 63 times last year, which was the second worst next to Oakland. He took a beating last year.
I agree, he did take a beating last year, but he's actually on pace to get sacked more this year than last year. 12 sacks thru 3 games is a 64 sack pace. Throw in the 3 sacks that took place while he was out with a concussion and he'd be on an 80 sack pace. Since he already has one concussion and the team is on pace for another 60 sacks, it doesn't look good for Kitna healthwise unless things change.

Kitna will not last all year, last year was a fluke. Mike Martz is great on putting up numbers but not protecting his QBs. I picked JT last week to cover for Kitna because he looks like he will put up points in the stystem also.
