Anybody watch the 4th quarter of the DET game? What a display by Kitna. Took shot after shot and kept coming back for more, fighting for extra yardage and 1st downs all while being knocked out of the game earlier. He's gonna get himself killed this year. Nevertheless was an amazing game to watch especially with the cameras showing his Dad in the stands after all the shots he was taking.

yeah, but it is still beyond me why he sat out a while. He had back problems, but he was fist pumping on the sidelines with such energy, I was like what is he doing....Get in there! The guy did play strong though in fourth. That hit he took when his head it ground first was nuts...Did not phase kitna

There is a new concussion rule where a player must be cleared by a doc in order to return to the game. Good for players, sucks for fantasy.

Never heard about back problems. Listening locally on the radio, they said he had a possible concussion. He lobbied Martz and convinced the medical staff he could go back into the game. What a finish!

I don't think they win that game if he doesn't come back in. What a huge win at home for the Lions. Ford Field might not be a free win any more. Could start getting a little out of hand there if they keep this up.

I thought it was funny yesterday when the fans were going crazy for a stop on D at the end of the game and in OT. Same boo birds with brown bags in their back pockets and fire millen shirts under their sweatshirt just in case. 4 sport Detroit fan here, but sometimes the fans in Detroit just simply amaze me.

Hey, if at this point Detroit fans are still buying tickets for games, that's more than Detroit should expect. Can't blame them for being gunshy at this point.

Was a good measure of Kitna. Fans in the stands were really excited that he came back in for obvious reasons.

IT WAS MINNESOTA
It's the NFC....the NFC is full of Minnesota's. The NFC is so weak, the Lions have a shot, well at least at the playoffs. Oddly though, the weak Norris Division may be the toughest in the NFC with GB and da Bears.

Why is that weird?Detroit fans are very loyal. Most fans would've just stopped showing up for the games after what's been going on the past few years. The fact that Lions fans still cared enough to come to the games and protest rather than just stay home is impressive IMO.

I really don't think Detroit can be stopped when they run 4 wide and Kitna is on his game.

You can't really bring a blitz against him and you can't cover the WRs long enough to get to the QB. No wonder they pass the ball on every down. Detroit's only chance of winning versus Minnesota was to run 4 wide all day. And when Kitna went out and the backup came in and couldn't run the 4 wide, it all went down hill.

I think we will see that Kitna is the #1 ranked QB in fantasy football this year if he manages to play the rest of his games without getting injured. Detroit passes the ball so much and he's got the system in his back pocket. Even with the missed half of play, the guy put up 250 yards this weekend!

AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT DETROIT!!!
I will tell you, this is a new Detroit Lions. I am not screaming playoffs or anything, but this team has a new attitude and image. The Lions of the past would not go on the road, give up a 17 poind lead and come back to win the game. The Lions of old would not beat an elite defense after their starting QB is knocked out for 2 quarters. Marinelli has this team moving in the right direction.

The guy racks up yards in massive chunks. You blink and Kitna has 80 yards. If he can lay off the turnovers, he has a chance to have a monster year. Roy is amazing, CJ is the real deal, Furrey and McDonald are as good of a 3/4 WR combo as you will find anywhere in the NFL.

No offense, but Kitna didn't get knocked out of the game playing patty-cake with his teammates. That Martz offense has a tendency to get QB's injured. You CAN blitz a Martz offense...just ask Kurt Warner. The pass rush doesn't always have to get there...it just has to get close to disrupt a QB...especially when he's been getting his brains beat in the previous few weeks. All those hits Kitna is taking speak highly of his willingness to stand in and take the hit...but they add up. And if it keeps up he's going to start rushing his throws (= inaccuracy), rushing his reads (= int's) or he's going to get hit one too many times (= injury). He's human, not invincible. This O-Line still has a long way to go. When they have an O-Line that can stop the blitz with no help from their backs or TE, then you can claim that they can't be blitzed. Until then, Kitna won't be able to take a beating like that every week and still produce like he's been doing.

The suggestion of back problems came because the cameras flashed the medical staff examining him on the sidelines. Someone was looking at his back while someone else was looking at his eyes, etc. All the announcers could come up with was that Kitna had a back issue and it was never again mentioned in the broadcast. A terrible announcing crew and obviously not a good behind the scenes crew either being nobody got any additional information to pass along to viewers.I have to agree with Shadyridr. Great effort by Kitna...especially the play where the ball came right back to him and he ran for 9 yards. Very heads-up (and dangerous). :lmao:

If you watched any part of this game the Lions completely dominated on defence and also on offence when Kitna was in. If he didn't get knocked out they win easily by 14 or more. Sean Rogers and Cory Redding created havoc all day for Hutchinson and co. Its nice to see what Marinelli's been preaching is finally starting to pay off. Should get a clearer picture on what this team is actually made of in the next 2 weeks though.

his performance alone should help to rally the team and solidify him as a team leader. this sort of locker room stuff has a much bigger impact on the team and everyone's performance than other measurables. i look to see the lions play beyond themselves (the whole is greater than the parts) and see a playoff birth for this team...all the pieces are in place and kitna's performance yesterday is just icing.

"I've never felt anything like that, and for it to clear up and go right back to as normal as I can be, is nothing short of a miracle," Kitna said. "I just definitely feel the hand of God. That's all it was. You can't explain it.

Yep, Lions make the playoffs, Kitna goes for 4000yds & 32 TDs...he feels the hand of God people!

Not true...the Bears D can and will do it. Like every year, we will hammer the Lions. Grossman will light their secondary up like he always does.
The only thing that Rexy lights up is the faces of defenses when he steps on the field.
:wall: Kitna better not get hit by the Bears though....he won't be coming back into the game FO SURE :lmao:
