IN fantasy, any pitcher who is a must start regardless of opponent is an Ace IMO and for the last 3 months, I haven't sat Lester once.
Don't confuse fantasy with real baseball.

The playoffs is where most pitchers earn the "ace" label. Of course, Lester's stats suggest he is a borderline ace, but I want to see a few more dominant starts against high quality teams. I think the guy projects as an excellent #2/#3 down the road, but I don't believe he is the type that will dominate come playoff time, but I could be wrong!

Is there any doubt that Lester is Boston's ace right now?
Every team has a #1 but not every team has an ace. He's certainly been their #1 but might not be dominant enough for the ace label.

Could be a slight letdown this year due to the high jump in innings last year. But I think he has great stuff and he will be an ace if not this year then next year.

I think it's all in his head, he has had far more good innings then bad innings, but when things start to go south he tends to fall apart.

This. He routinely puts together a 6 inning effort consisting of 4 perfect innings... 1 very good inning...and one inning where he gives up 4 runs. From a fantasy perspective that is irrelevant obviously. From a fan perspective it's a sign that he's got what it takes, he just needs to work on his mental toughness in tight spots.

and it's a lot easier said than done.

He's not letting down, he's pitching great. :bag:
:stirspot:
Last night he didn't pitch well. He was incredibly lucky last year and has been incredibly unlucky this year, which makes it appear like he's regressing. But he isn't. He's getting really good. And I'm sure the Red Sox understand this.
