Jordy nelson (1 Viewer)

ANy thoughts on him. While I did not expect the same exact thing as last year when he was the #2 Fantasy WR i certanly did not expect him to drop to the 30-40 range. He was in the top 10 in alot of pre season rankings. And while Green Bay is losing and all the offense is still putting up numbers , guys like Cobb and Jones and Rodgers putting up yards and points.

Anyone see him improving or has he become a early round bust and bye week fill in now. Im starting Eric Decker over him going forward.

No idea. GB offense has turned into what the Saints offense used to be with Meachem, Henderson, Colston, Moore. Never know whose gonna do what.

Law of averages state Nelson's due for some TD's. 15 last year, prob see 7 this year. So hopefully his best games are ahead of him.

Frustrating to say the least when guys like Cruz were definitely available around Nelson's ADP. Hindsight is 20/20 tho

Jordy had a number of long TDs last season in 1 on 1 coverage. I'm sure teams have adjusted. Especially without Jennings in there to take away some attention. Teams are more likely to single Jones, and Finley isn't the threat at this point that he was thought to be early last season. Thus, more defensive attention on Jordy. Rodgers will go at the open WR, or at the very least the guy that singled up. I'm very frustrated with it, but w/o Jennings he's going to be hit or miss I'm afraid.

He's also been targeted a bunch of times on deep routes where he drew penalties.

He also though does appear to have a bit of the drops this year...

If you watched the game today, you saw Nelson targetted lots. Rodgers was in a funk today & over/underthrew Jordy several times. Jordy will be fine. Don't overreact.

I still think of him as a buy-low. Benson possibly being out for an extended period of time only helps his case.

I was in awe of Jordy's numbers last year. His TD to target ratio was absurd. He also had a higher catch percentage than Welker, something completely unheard of for a deep threat. It was indeed fluky and can mostly be attributed to Rodgers' accuracy, but to say the guy doesn't have enough talent to put together a solid season is silly.

His TD to target ratio is the reason he is overated this year. Randall Cobb is the better buy low. Without Benson and Jennings his value really increases.

People looking to trade Jordy, what are you targeting? Do you think hes worth a low end RB with guarantee touches like R.Williams, S.Green or D.Brown? Are you trying to package him in with a trade? Is he the perfect buy low candidate?

I'm having a hard time gauging his value with many preaching hold and others trying to unload him for any value.

Well this week was on Rodgers especially in the first half. 2nd half was piss poor coaching, I guess

Got behind D and was wide open and Rodgers overthrew him for a TD

3 Balls that if on target, he was open for and Rodgers missed all 3

A nice play on getting 1st down but penalty(weak one) negated and Cobb got the next play for TD

If Rodgers was on him today he would have had probably 3-70 and a TD at the minimum.

I did not watch the 2nd half so unsure how much he was targeted here.

Keep him in your lineup. the problem with most WRs is you don't know when they have the big game. You know over the season they'll put up the numbers. For example, benching colston bc of what you saw in the first 3 games would have cost you dearly the last 2. stick with your top draft choices, they will perform. cobb and jones...inconsistent at best. not fantasy worthy most of the time.

He always lines up on the outside and it seems like Rodgers rarely has time to even look his way when they are matriculating the ball down the field. Rodgers seems to always go to whoever is in the slot.

I invested quite a bit in him in a couple of leagues.....have lost a couple of tight games in each and while I'm not blaming those solely on his lack of production, he has thrown up some weeks that I feel are under what his week to week "floor" usually is....I will not trade him and he will be in my lineup each week....lots of reasons I guess for lack of production, but in that offense I still consider him a must start...I think at some point, GB will get back that honey badger we don't give a #### you can't stop us mentality and they should start rolling again....while it's been a struggle, the remaining schedule isn't that difficult and the fact that GB may be playing meaningful games all the way through the season should be a good thing for fantasy owners....Jordy should be a major part of that....it's frustrating to look at yor lineup and see single digit points from him, but he could also go on a tear where he carries your team/WR position for a few weeks....ride it out, hopefully the best is ahead...

I've always thought Nelson was a bit overrated and benefited greatly from all the attention Jennings receives when he's on the field. I've also believed that Jones is the more talented WR but he lacked consistency before this season. Nelson is struggling to get separation. I think the Packers really miss Jennings. He's a legit No. 1 WR. I think we're finding out that Nelson isn't a true No. 1 and that's hurting the offense considerably with Jennings out. Jones and Cobb are the best WRs on the team right now and the Packers may need to focus more on them going forward until(if) Jennings gets healthy.

GB may be playing meaningful games all the way through the season should be a good thing for fantasy owners....Jordy should be a major part of that....
Why? He hasn't really been part of the current meaningful games, short of last week.
while not performing to expectations at this point....he still leads the team in receptions and yards...so he is a part of whats happening nowit does not appear GB will have the luxary of sitting guys late in the season....

anyone else think there could be an uptick in action for the whole passing game with benson out? I'm thinking the coaches might not run as much with green and starks instead.

It's probable, but may not be very noticeable considering Rodgers love to spread it around. I still think Jordy is worth the buy although the same can be said for Cobb who you can get for much cheaper.

McCarthy is going to hand the ball off at least 20 times or so a game no matter who is in the backfield, and no matter how effective it is. Just how he is.

Benching Jordy for Brian Hartline. Until Nelson shows me something, I can no longer afford to play him. He has been terrible this year.

My friend's kid was killed by a drunk driver last week in Northern Wisconsin. Someone contacted the Packers and Jordy who was his son's favorite player. They got this signed helmet delivered to them yesterday, the day of his funeral.

While he is not having the season we all expected, he certainly is no POS.

This. However, James Jones is the Packer WR to have this year.

have Jordy in a few leagues and pimped him pretty hard in another thread (or two). The timing between him and Rodgers just seems to be "off" a little. Maybe it is the extra attention he is receiving since Jennings is out, and his routs are a split second off... or maybe it is the OL that can't seem to give Rodgers enough time to look down field. Maybe GB's usage is to have him clear out the short and intermediate routs for others. I really don't know. A couple of the drops i've seen have been heartbreaking (and uncharacteristic?)

statistically, i noticed he fared much better at home last year and the trend is continuing this year. Home cooking? Wife and kids? I don't know but he is producing like he is more comfortable at home.

i throw out the first three games because of the replacement refs since DBs were getting away with more. i don't expect much out of him in SEA, but his next couple of home games will go a long way into saving his FF season.

For FF(Because this is a FF message board), during the first 5 weeks of the season, he has been a POS.

Nothing to do with him off the field. Sorry to hear about your story. I have a few emotional stories too. But ill keep them off Public Fantasy Football Message Boards instead of using them to go after disappointed post-game posters. :banned:

Now, if only the rest of the NFL can try to defend Jordy the same way. Lay off him 8 yards and let him get off the line free.

Houston's game plan was terrible...you jam Jordy at the line and he is useless. But I'll take the 30 pts.

Have him and Rodgers in one of my biggest buy in leagues and was startin to stress after about 5 games, but seems like it is getting back to normal thank god, Jordy is one of those guys you really can never pull from your lineup as you never know which game is gonna be the big one. Gotta take the 4/40 games along with the 9/120/3 games :)

Now if Oak can just have a awakening on how to use McFadden I should be untouchable.
