Lets imagine that he has a great game Thursday night and an NFL team (Jets, Pats, Lions) that needs a WR, trades a couple of draft picks for him.

1. Could he play again on Sunday?

2. Would the world of fantasy football have to count both games point totals?

3. Has it ever happened before that a NFL player has played twice in the same week for two different teams?

I know that chances are slim to none that this could happen. However, it is fun to think it could happen.

And then traded to the Jets after his Sunday afternoon game and then plays on Monday night! He could be the leagues rent-a-receiver.

But seriously, I think someone posted something similar to this last year and somebody came in saying that it wasn't legal according to the NFL rules though.

I dont think the NFL front office would allow it under normal (17 game potential) circumstances

But since he was suspended for 2 games and it would draw lots of attention... they probably would.

I dont see why not, in baseball I think some traded players have played a day game for 1 team, than a night game for another. Or something

Wow I forgot about Monday night. Since I am a Jets fan It would not surprise me if they dropped him and then the Browns could sign him and trade him again for even more picks.

I am pretty sure there is a rule in the CBA that says something to the effect that a player has to be with his team for three days before he can practice with the team ( I believe it is called an acclimation period). I am thinking the Seahawks actually got slapped on this with Terrell Owens for violating the rule.

So I think it would prevent your scenario.

However, I DO remember Randy Moss getting traded that year where he ended up not having a bye weeks so you could have a player play 17 games.
