Joshua Cribbs: WR? (1 Viewer)

The Browns are another team like the Rams who still have some sorting to do before the final WR corps is settled. HC Pat Shurmur and Team President Holmgren are instituting the WCO. QB Colt McCoy hosted and led Camp McCoy in the off season and numerous offensive players attended including top receivers Robiskie, Massaquoi, and Cribbs. Second round rookie pick Greg Little is performing well - like a rookie. All this leaves the Browns WR depth chart a bit unsettled as we head into the 2nd week of preseason.

Cribbs appears to be making strides towards his goal of becoming a good NFL WR. He caught a TD from McCoy in the week 1 preseason game last week against the Packers in the first quarter and has been running with the first team all training camp.

Check on Cribb's development for yourself - the investment to roster him is minimal and the returns could be golden.

I can't see Cribbs starting once Little gets up to speed and Massaquoi is healthy.

I think the likelihood of even getting to startable WR3 numbers is slim, BUT the investment to get Cribbs is also slim (and stranger things happen every year). If you have a roster spot to burn, he's not a bad flier (and I would wager you'll know something within the first month of the season...could be wrong but I think it either happens "out of the gate" in the new offense or it doesn't happen at all).

Thing that scares me with Cribs is I feel Robiskie and Little will be the main WR and that will leave him battling Massaquoi for the slot. But as a late round pick worth a try!!

People might be sleeping on Robiskie and I believe he is in the infamous 3rd year!!

None of those wrs has proven anything. Massoqui and Robiskie while 2nd rounders have been slow to progress and are not as dynamic as Cribbs. Wco is quick reads and slant passes across middle. Cribbs has strength/speed to get off the line on quick hit and use hia game breaking speed to make huge gains.

As a last pick or ww addition as a wr5 or flexe, what have you got to lose?

Didn't work for Hester, and Cribbs has better competition in the building than him.
Do you have a link to the story that announced the book has officially been closed on Hester? I searched for it on Google, but I couldn't find it among the reports from several people (including Jay Cutler) that Hester has been the best player in camps and the press conferences where Martz announced that Hester was retaining his starting position (while Knox goes to the bench) and receiving a larger role this year.
