Will Shaun Hill take over or is JT safe for another week? Any homie knows the inside scoops on the QB situation with the coaching change?

If Nolan wasnt going to make the change, Singletary sure won't. JTO is good for this week...he better play at least somewhat well though...as with a bye in week 9, Martz would have 2 weeks to get Hil ready to play.

Pure speculation on my part but I think this may be his last chance to keep the starting job. He's been playing poorly for weeks and as noted above, Martz will have two weeks to prepare Hill if he wants to make a QB change. The good news for O'Sullivan is he's at home and he faces a poor Seattle defense that he lit up earlier this season. This is a very good matchup for him so he should be able to do well. He should be able to get the ball to Bruce and if Morgan keeps coming on that will be a big plus as well.

If you need to start him this week, I'd go with him even though it's been an adventure for him lately.

I was listening to Singletary's press conference on radio and when a reporter asked if there will be any roster changes. He said "no."

The sad thing is, O'Sullivan will put up good numbers this week and only delay the agony by creating the temporary illusion that he's actually a good QB.

I agree. He isn't very talented. He's clearly benefiting from being in a Martz system. But if he can at least get to the point where he can do well when the matchup is right that would be huge because his second-half schedule is loaded with great matchups.

At this point I'd rather see what Shaun Hill could do with those matchups. But I guess it's not going to happen unless O'Sullivan puts up a stinker against one of the upcoming cupcakes.

I do. Have Hasselback as my backup to Cutler. Seeing Hass deal with his and other injuries I picked up JTO just in case. Now I'm picking up Hill just in case my just in case gets benched. :link:

local ticket holder. I like JTO, but he just doesn't have the arm to get the ball down the field like Hill does- albeit, Hill doesn't come close to being able to keep plays alive by scrambling like JTO though............ should prove interesting- I believe it will be Martz's call though.

Why was Sullivan chosen over Hill or Smith after the pre-season. I know that he was familiar to Martz system but he also must have had better skills. If he doesn't turn the ball over there would be no controversy but at the same time he's not getting protection.

Don't have the links handy, but I was reading an article from SF that was quoting the coaching staff (Nolan on his way out as well as Martz) stating how Hill COULDNT get the ball downfield like Sullivan can and that was a big reason Sullivan has the gig.

I couldn't disagree more. He's getting killed out there with no protection. The Giants were in the backfield as soon as he dropped back on nearly every play. I think he'll play better this week

This is totally wrong. Hill has a weak arm and is a game manager. O'Sullivan will never be compared to Favre in arm strength, but he has show good ability to throw a deep ball. When he actually mke a decision before being blown up from behind... His issue is holding onto the ball for too long.

That's part of the Martz equation, though. I think being in a Martz system has added anywhere from 50-75 yards a game to O'Sullivan's production. He is really an awful QB. His passes are often horribly inaccurate, he makes terrible decisions with the ball and he's a turnover magnet. I think Martz's system is helping him immensely. Put him in another system and he'd be a No. 3 QB. He just isn't very good.

there are no signs in the local media that there will be a change for this week -- at least up through the noon news on wednesday.

against seattle, jto should have a good week (at least for him).

I thought Hill had a stronger arm, perhaps my mistake. However, on TV watching JTO is one thing, but when you are at the game and watching McNabb throw darts down the field, and then have JTO throw 40 yard wobblers that prevents them from stretching the field, it is another. I like him but it will prove interesting to see if he keeps the job. Regardless, the 49ers still need a QB of the future.
