KC DEF owners...what are you doing for BYE and (2) DEN matchups? (1 Viewer)

Those who are finding replacement for KC. Are you guys still plan on playing KC during fantasy playoffs? or are you finding a replacement entirely?
I may have to drop them entirely this week due to bye week issues.

Don't want to, but it is what it is and there schedule is not exactly favorable moving forward.

It's either that or take a zero at defense or tight end, and my win/loss column is in not position to risk a zero at a postion.
Drop them, really? You have 4-5 WRs better? Would you drop the 8 best RB or the 2 best WR? In my league that's where they stand right now. I would take a zero before I dropped them

Take a zero at defense or TE. Cutting them is a big mistake.

I know... No one cares about my roster, but you asked. And I'm just having difficulty hanging on to them.

I really don't want to drop them, but we have 5 bench spots, 2 of them are currently held by bye week starters.

Wide recievers are Garcon, Allen, TY Hilton, Gordon, Keenan Allen, Percy Harvin. I just packaged a RB and V Jackson in a 2 man trade for RB upgrade to open up a roster spot for a TE or Defense. Still have only one bench spot and TE and Defense on a bye.

Tried to package RB2, V Jackson, and KC Defense for a RB1, but no one was biting on KC and their future matchups with Denver.

Trying to trade them for another D straight up, even Tennessee for their great looking Jax matchups, but no bites yet.

I would drop percy harvin before I dropped KC.

KC is third in points in my league, only Brees and Manning have more. Dont ever drop them or trade them.

Will hope that Chicago gets their crap together and get healthier to go against the Lions at home. Also hoping that Stafford doesn't have a game like vs Dallas as we get negative pts if our "D" give up pts beyond 21 but I don't think I can drop the bears in hopes of a WW team to do any better.
I picked up AZ on Sunday for this week and probably next, but CHI was just dropped in my league.

This week is not a great match-up, but they have BAL, STL and MIN the following 3 weeks, which would be nice to get through DEN/SD/DEN.

We don't do negative points for points given up, though, so part of me thinks that KC is the play all the time, since they have so many playmakers.

KC has 7 defensive touchdowns. Since 1990, just 9 teams have ever scored more (5 with 8, 3 with 9 and 1 with 10).

I have some concern about a regression there.

I'm rolling with Indy this week against St. Louis. Debated the Giants coming off the bye against Oakland, too.

What are the chances KC def continues there success? The matchups are alot tougher after there bye. Would it be worth trading them and trying to get an upgrade at RB/WR?

I had zero luck trying to do this. Not saying you can't, but I had trouble as most of my league mates look forward and see their future schedule.I'm hanging onto them, based on football guys forum advice, and will continue to start them until they prove me otherwise.

Heck, jaxonville had a great defensive performance against Denver, int return TD, plethora of sacks... Why can't KC do the same?

This is what I was thinking, we saw how manning plays with pressure and the chiefs will bring it every play. I was just thinking if it was possible to get something of higher value to make my lineup better i could. I have Tenn this week and then I will ride the Chiefs.

So, for those of you (us) who picked up Arizona initially, and 2nd thoughts after seeing Keenum?

I was thinking about going towards Buffalo, Denver, or maybe Indy if they get dropped instead. (Still leaning towards KC vs Den, but we'll have to see)
HOU has given much fewer points to DST since Schaub went out.

In weeks 3-6, HOU was giving 24-30 points to DST (average in that league is about 10-12).

Week 7 KC: 15.75,

Week 8 BYE

Week 9 IND: 7.50.

....Major dropoff.

I am trying TEN DST vJax week 10, maybe try to grab ARI @Jax for week 11.

Regarding KC's performance so far, I worry that

1) they have played a favorable schedule for the DST

2) mixed in that easy schedule were many backup/3rd-string QBs, many of which they didn't really exploit.

They didn't really exploit some of the teams? They are the 4th highest overall scorer in my fantasy leagues. What more could they do to exploit things?

I'm grabbing Tampa. Most of the options listed in here aren't available in my league and the Bucs play Miami who has been distracted all week and who won't have 2 starting linemen.

I picked up Indy to cover bye week....but I am not dropping KC yet either. Tennessee would have been my preference if they were available. But like nails on a chalkboard, there is just something that feels out of place for me to carry 2 defenses (shorter bench).

I had IND for this week, but I'm dropping them for BUF tomorrow for their matchups @PIT and vs. NYJ. Cleveland then gets PIT and JAX weeks 12 and 13, and if you can stash them till Week 16, they are @NYJ (Chiefs get IND)

I own them and have considered dropping them for another D/ST just for the better matchups. I really only envision starting them for that week 15 matchup and even then it's at Oakland. Their sacks have trailed off, the Browns and Bills have moved the ball on them, and their only saving grace has been TDs which seem very fluky. The only thing stopping me from dropping them is just so my opponents don't pick them up.

I think people who see them scoring 10+ points per game in the fantasy playoffs are delusional.

I said this in this thread earlier as well. I'm currently not starting a tight end in my league right now due to byes and am currently rostering two defenses. If I could drop kc defense it would solve this, but the shark pool talked me out of it.

The only other players I could drop off my bench are harvin and vereen, but I've been stashing them so long it would kill me.

I still think they can put up points, but think they will regress.

But, it's hard to wave goodbye to someone who's scored 20+ points in 6 weeks, even if you think it is fluky.

I'm going to hold KC and see how they hold up vs. Denver in week 11. If they fail miserably, I'll probably pick up the Browns D for weeks 12 and 13.

ARIZ in weeks 10/11 vs. Houston and Jax

CLEV in weeks 12/13 vs. Pitt and Jax

Everyone talks about the teams coming up but I have 2 thoughts for everyone

Aren't the Eagles a good offense? Didn't Kansas City slow them down?

Since Peyton's sizzling start in the first 6 games him and the Bronco's have taken 6 sacks and turned the ball over 10 times in the last 3 games. So you are telling me that defenses like Jacksonville, and Washington can force them into turnovers but one of the best defenses in the league can't? Not to mention a team that seems to have a knack for taking turnovers back to the end zone for touchdowns. Other then the bye week I am starting them every week.

Interesting piece on nfl network right now regarding Manning.

4 straight games with picks.

4 fumbles in that time.

For those worried about KCD, this has to make you feel a little better.

I'm starting them until they prove me they can't do it. Overthinking the matchup has a better chance of getting me in trouble.

Man thought I scored when someone dropped SF Def this week and just realized they are @ NO next week while KC is @ DEN. Couldnt get much worse than that......which one would you drop? Ouch.

I'm a contender in a dynasty league where someone dropped KC DEF this week for some scrub. How short-sighted is that?? I scooped them up immediately. I'm planning on starting them every week moving forward until it's proven that I shouldn't. It's a 14 team league, so there are never very many good matchup-worthy defenses available either. I feel like I struck oil here.

Cool story bro!

Thanks man, I've been dying to share. Squealed a little when I hit "post", even.

How juicy does KC D become with Osweiler at the helm?

No news on Peyton yet, but KC D owners may have just lucked into a juicy matchup.

I'm 10-0 in one league so I can afford to roll with the Chiefs against the Broncos. In the other I am planning to drop Kaepernick for somebody.

Rolled with Miami this week but game is already won. I'm thinking Kc is a must start next week even if Peyton plays. Hes not going to be 100% and even though he's Peyton manning, he's still human. If he's hurt he won't be as effective.

Maybe a gimpy Manning is better. He'll be throwing earlier to avoid getting crushed and the pick-six will be more likely.

Played tenn and got mediocre results.
Me too. I just sent the Titans packing and picked up the Jets for Week 11.
I thought I could play tenn again week 16 vs jax but this last game has me wondering if that's a good idea
In my opinion, It ain't worth holding onto them after yesterday's debacle. I think Fitzpatrick makes the Titans defense worse.
I think I may just play kc through their playoff schedule. Really want to see how they do with denver

Picking up the Cardinals this week worked out (12 points), thinking about going with them again against Jacksonville. Im scared I am going to get burned on this, im a firm believer in Never sit your studs. Chiefs Defense being just that. They have 50 more points on the year than the next defense, I think it is either Carolina or Seattle.

I plan on starting cardinals D (@ jax) this week over chiefs... possibly even starting texans d (vs OAK, then vs. JAX next two weeks) in another league

Unless you get penalized heavily for points against, I see a lot of turnovers, tackles for loss and sacks coming against a hobbled Manning. FWIW Reid had an extra week to plan and he's pretty good after the bye historically.

I did the same and I am going with Arizona for one more week. Who cares that Manning is banged up? His mobility is a non factor even if 100% healthy. If the chiefs are going to get sacks it won't be because of Peyton's bad ankle. If anything I think it will be harder to get to Manning next week than it ever has been. Those offensive linemen just saw their Super Bowl dreams almost go down the hopper. Their protection will be stronger than ever! Would you want to be the guy who blew protection and got Manning hurt? I expect a lot of quick routes . Welker will be heavily involved as Manning is going to not hold onto that ball.

-5 at 28 pts allowed, and

-10 at 35 pts allowed,

makes me very hesitant to start them.
Are you speaking from zero as your starting point or 8? As in, your defense starts the game with 8 points for a shutout and it goes back to 3 at 28 and -2 at 35.

There's room for lots of sacks in this game and a couple turnovers to have a decent scoring game for the chiefs even if it's a high scoring adventure.
