Kenard Lang 2005 (1 Viewer)

beer is good
Kenard Lang was a decent DL in IDP last year, and FBG has him ranked around 24th among linemen this year. However, the Browns are moving to a 3-4 defense, and are considering him at OLB. Indeed, MFL has him listed already at LB. This brings me to my two questions:1. Do you guys think he'll end up at LB, or DE, and2. What is his fantasy outlook this year depending on what position he ends up in?Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I did try to do a search. TIA for any insights into this situation you guys might have. :)

LB, and his future is bleak as a part time OLB ...

1. Do you guys think he'll end up at LB, or DE, and

Answer: DE. The Browns, surprisingly, seem dead-set on moving Lang to OLB. I'm confused by the move since Lang has never played in space, plus the Browns seem to hurting more at the DL position than the LB position (even though both positions look bleak for the team).

2. What is his fantasy outlook this year depending on what position he ends up in?

Answer: A lot of this is determined by your league's scoring system, but Lang's value will probably take a major tumble no matter where he ultimately lands.

If he plays OLB and is coded as an OLB in your league, he'll essentially be worthless (decent sack numbers / lousy tackle numbers). If he plays DE and is coded as a DE, the Browns' new 3-4 will severly hurt his value. There's is one "best case scenario" for Lang...if he plays OLB and is coded as a DE in your league, he could have value. His sacks have a chance at remaining the same and his tackles have the opportunity to increase.
