But another younger, bigger back likely will.I can see Hunter playing the Pierre Thomas role in this offense for the foreseeable future. I see a very good RB role player in him. Not a franchise back.Jacobs won't be there next year
Kendall is smaller and slower than LMJ. LMJ was drafted highly by Harbaugh. Kendall won't be assuming Gore's role.I think he will assume Gores role while LMJ assumes the cop in that offense. Kendall runs well between the tackles and off tackle imo. I dont think theres much hit at all at his dyno value.
ugh i hate it when FF owners open their mouth like they know stuff. I take it you do not watch their games so lets look at stats since you bring that up:LMJ 5'8 194 (40 time of 4.37)Hunter 5'7 200 (40 time of 4.53)Kendall Hunter is a better run between the tackles then James, he has a much better squat like build and is built more then the slightly taller/less weight James. LMJ is a great CoP back much like his predecessor Jahvid Best from the "O". Hunter has a different skill set then LMJ, and its pretty evident how they value him. I'm no fortune teller but i could easily envision a Hunter/LMJ backfield there in two years.Kendall is smaller and slower than LMJ. LMJ was drafted highly by Harbaugh. I live in SF and watch every Niners game. They basically weigh the same - a 2-3% difference in weight is nothing. LMJ is much faster and Hunter is probably not any better between the tackles, although we've hardly seen enough from James to say how great he can be in that department. I don't see anything that Hunter does that James can't do at least as well. Hunter has been solid this year, sure. But I haven't seen any evidence that the staff values him that much. Certainly not so much that they avoided using a second rounder on LMJ. Alex Smith has been solid, too. But now he's playing behind Harbaugh's other second round pick. As Hunter will be next year, too.ugh i hate it when FF owners open their mouth like they know stuff. It doesn't matter what they're actual weight is. Hunter plays to his weight, runs hard and gets yards after contact. James is nowhere the runner Hunter is. He's simply faster and a bit shiftier. An achilles tear is a real career-ender. It's going to be a long road back for Hunter.'DevilintheDetail said:I live in SF and watch every Niners game. I think you guys are substantially underrating LMJ's ability. Regardless, an achilles tear is no joke, especially this late in the season. Hunter probably won't be ready for training camp, if he ever plays meaningful NFL minutes again. He's a drop in dynasty.Hunter is significantly better between the tackles than LMJ.
I love LMJ. Drafted him in the developmental portion of one dynasty 3 years ago and traded up to get him in last year's rookie draft in the other...but not because of his between the tackles ability. He's the 9ers version of Darren Sproles...Percy Harvin...Randall Cobb. Electric in space, but between the tackles? Give it to someone else. No YAC, little wiggle, hesitation if there is not a gaping hole. Get someone else in there to take the pounding on those plays, let LMJ dominate on the outer rim.I think you guys are substantially underrating LMJ's ability.
