Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said Britt was excused from practice. As for Britt's involvement in the fight, Fisher said the receiver was "at the wrong place at the wrong time" but that he's giving him the "benefit of the doubt."

Doesn't make me feel any better, but I am hoping they have been game planning Britt into the mix all week, and are reluctant to change it now.No? Yeah, I don't really believe that either.

We've got Fisher's full quotes now, and Wyatt's interpretation was done with rose-colored glasses, to say the least. "I haven't ruled out the possibility of him not playing," said Fisher. "It really depends on the information I'm able to obtain before kickoff. That's really all I can say." Fisher added that Britt was held out of Friday's practice "so as not to create an additional distraction." We don't think he's going to play against the Eagles.

Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt took part in a bar brawl early Friday morning in downtown Nashville, and one of the men involved said there’s a “good chance” he will press charges against the second-year pro.

The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. at Club Karma off Lower Broad, according to police. Witnesses identified Britt as being involved in the fight and striking another man.

Britt, 22, has not been arrested or charged in what Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron called an “open misdemeanor assault investigation.’’

Police said a fight between Harold Pointer, 26, and Bradford Miser, 29, broke out in the bar area. Witnesses said Miser punched Pointer, and the two men fell to the ground. Britt allegedly joined in and hit Pointer.

“He was in the fight,” Pointer said. “I can almost understand if he had a problem to send someone else over to do it and him act like he had nothing to with it. But he was full-fledged in a fight. He was swinging, he was punching.’’

Pointer also said Titans running back Chris Johnson was present with another group, but was not involved in the fight and was trying to be a peacemaker at the end.

re: an earlier point you made about his intelligence, I think you're on the money:

Think about someone who racks up three speeding tickets or violations in his home state, and is so irresponsible he doesn't pay them. Is it not common knowledge that if you don't pay vehicular tickets, they will issue a bench warrant - every #######g time, and in every g-d jurisdiction? Now tack on the same individual may have been involved in an altercation in a public venue. Is it not common knowledge that if you punch someone, you will likely be charged with assault? JFC

Kenny scored a 21 on the Wonderlic - sadly, that is an above average score for a WR - but man is he stoopid (as in lacking common sense).

I don't know how Fisher or Adams will handle this. I know what I would do, and what I would like to see happen: I want the punk to lose his job.

But this is billion dollar NFL, and if they can couch it in terms of the investigation is ongoing or whatever else, I think if they can find a way to keep him on the fied, they will.

Earlier this year in a guppy league (group of dad's from my daughters preschool), somebody dropped Braylon on the afternoon of his D.U.I. arrest. The #1 WW priority cherry picked on Sunday morning, and has had a productive WR freebie ever since.

Refresh my memory...did VY come clean right away, or did he deny then backpeddle? I honestly don't remember.If Britt represented one version, and multiple witnesses contradict him *(e.g., Fisher thinks he lied), I think the lame attempt at cover-up makes it worse than the actual offense.

Witnesses? The guy they quote the most is the guy who is saying Britt punched him. The same guy who said he is looking for a lawyer. The guy is looking for a payday. Maybe it went down the way this Pointer said it did, but I need to see some people corroborate that. Maybe someone who is not saying in the same breath, "Britt hit me," and, "any lawyers in the house?" The only other "witnesses seem to be discussed in the most generic terms. And cut him? Are you kidding me? Vince Young was video taped sucker punching a guy from 5 feet. Remember Vince had some severe issues too. Remember them wondering if the guy was going to commit suicide and saying he might just walk away from football entirely? Oh, that's right. It happened more than 11 months ago so no one in the Shark Pool outside of Titans homers remember that.

It would cost them something like $6 mill to cut the guy. He's a former first round pick and their only legit big playmaker outside of CJ.

Britt had 700 yards and 3 TD's, averaged just under 17 yards a catch, last year over 16 games (6 starts), on a run first team that went 0-6, benched grey beard and brought in Vince Young who isn't exactly Steve Young. He looked sick as a rookie. As a Rams home, I would love to see them cut him. He would have a new team within a week.

He's not automatically going to develop into a stud WR because he is on a team that is heavily run-oriented. That said, there has never been any question about which Titans receiver has the most potential.It takes a lot to succeed as a WR in the NFL. Talent + opportunity + running correct routes + blocking downfield + hard work + focus.Kenny Britt has the physical tools, and despite showing up overweight, works his way back into an opportunity. He does a lot of things correctly on the football field. But none of that means anything if he lacks the work ethic or focus.Going need more info before we really know how this will play out. If I knew the outcome of Jeff Fisher's fact finding mission, I wouldn't be posting on a FF board - I'd be buying tonight's winning Mega Millions ticket. HOWEVER, for the sake of discussion, let's say zero impact from this incident.

Britt is on a nice run, but he probably won't average a TD per week. This is the classic 'Would you rather have the WR3 from the Colts or the WR2 from the Giants or the WR1 from the Titans' (e.g., pass happy vs. balanced vs. run oriented).

It is what it is - Britt is a nice WR3, but because of the offensive scheme and the level of talent at QB, not much more for this year.

AGree Britt is (or was ?) the classic WR3. steady level of production. Much like Dwayne bowe was a few years ago. You got alot of 7 for 55 games from Bowe. Steady 7-10 points a week. Classic WR3 level stuff. Your getting some yards and a TD every week. the only thing is its easier to keep up the receptions and yards but its hard to keep getting a TD every week. In that offense Britt is a 4-45 guy every week and you pray for the TD ( or a 5-82 week) . 6-12 points a week depending on the TD.

Witnesses? The guy they quote the most is the guy who is saying Britt punched him. The same guy who said he is looking for a lawyer. The guy is looking for a payday. Maybe it went down the way this Pointer said it did, but I need to see some people corroborate that. Maybe someone who is not saying in the same breath, "Britt hit me," and, "any lawyers in the house?" The only other "witnesses seem to be discussed in the most generic terms. And cut him? Are you kidding me? Vince Young was video taped sucker punching a guy from 5 feet. Remember Vince had some severe issues too. Remember them wondering if the guy was going to commit suicide and saying he might just walk away from football entirely? Oh, that's right. It happened more than 11 months ago so no one in the Shark Pool outside of Titans homers remember that.

It would cost them something like $6 mill to cut the guy. He's a former first round pick and their only legit big playmaker outside of CJ.

Lack of focus and allegedly punched a guy in a bar. Alleged by a guy that said he wants to sue Britt? Seriously? Whole lotta guys in here need to get to an orthopedist to have their knees looked at. I'm guessing lots of guys in this thread kicked themselves in the mouth while sitting down as they read through this.

Not sure why you seem up in arms over this, but the article clearly quotes police spokesperson Don Aaron stating the following: "According to witnesses, Britt began striking Pointer," Aaron said. "Security at the club as well as a witness then pulled Britt and Miser off of Pointer." It seems clear that this would indicate other people (besides Pointer) were in the bar and witness to this. Also, you state witnesses being mentioned in "generic terms"; I am not sure if you are expecting names, but that is not how this works.

As for what to do with Britt that is not my issue as I do not have him rostered; I was merely passing along some information from the authorities that seems pertinent. Do with it as you will.

I can honestly say as a Rutgers homer I'm shocked at how Britt has comported himself in the NFL. I don't think he's a thug, despite his issues. There was no indication of any of this during his 3 years at Rutgers. He was a really hard worker, never showboated despite his successes, was a great teammate. He was suspended once, along with Anthony Davis, for undisclosed reasons, which rumor has it involved marijuana. But as far as aggressive behavior, associating with the wrong crowd, poor work ethic, all that has cropped up since he entered the NFL.

It's hard to believe someone could go from being the consumate teammate and team leader to this. Schiano and staff at RU must have done a great job of keeping Kenny focused, and now doesn't have (or want) that support system in place.

I wish I could say that he's going to grow up one of these days (he was the youngest player in the league last year), but it looks like he's in need of some tough love if he's going to shape up. Very disappointing. Rutgers prides itself on developing hard-working, team-oriented players like Ray Rice, Devin McCourty, etc. and he's been tough to watch.

I could however see a suspension from the team and maybe from the NFL.Fantasy wise: Drop him for say a BMW or better. As far as I know he's deadweight for 1 week. Dropping seems short sighted unless you play in a league with 14 man rosters.
