...and that ladies and gentlemen, is the art of "Setting the MFer off".
Well. I'm going to lose because I benched Britt. But I still feel like I made the right decision. If Britt goes like 2 for 30; then its justified. All I know is that Britt will not be benched the rest of the year.

good analysis hereKenny Britt is currently on pace for 560 receiving yards this season. That needs to be repeated: Kenny Britt is currently on pace for 560 receiving yards this season. Five. Hundred. Sixty. If he continues catching a TD every single week, then he'll present strong fantasy value the rest of the way... but personally, I wouldn't want to bank on him catching a TD every week. I mean, do you guys really think he's going to finish the season with 560 yards and 14 TDs? Because I sure as hell don't. And when those TDs stop coming- and they *WILL* stop coming- then he'll just be a guy who got beaten out by Nate Washington and who is on pace for 560 yards after 6 weeks.560 yards. Five hundred sixty. I really cannot say that enough. The dude is obscenely overrated right now because TDs are disproportionately valuable in fantasy football and because people keep chasing past points rather than anticipating future points. The one constant I've learned over my years of fantasy football is that TDs are more likely to follow yards than yards are to follow TDs.I disagree. Britt is really starting to come on. He put up good numbers as a rookie last year, and now is starting to show he's a good player again this year. Yes, its a run dominated team, but the Titans seem to be convinced they need to pass to set up the run. I'd be cautious starting him if Collins starts next week, but VY seems to love throwing to him, especially in the red zone.I think Britt is a great sell high guy. Alot of Buzz on him after 3 straight TD's and now 4 the Buzz will be louder. Im trying to deal him for a TE since I lost Finley or a RB since both my starters (best-Foster) are on byes. But if not Britt makes a great WR3. He does not get alot of receptions or yeards but scores quite a bit.
560 yards. Britt currently ranks 73rd in the NFL in receiving yards. 73rd. He has a worse stat line (16/209/4) than Steve Johnson (17/214/4). You'll forgive me if I just can't get excited about that.
he's a must start as long as he isn't suspended . . .Any thoughts on him going forward and is Britt now considered a top WR2 must start? Where would you all rank him going forward?
lol. I like SSOG's posts in general but he's obviously not accurate on this one.good analysis hereKenny Britt is currently on pace for 560 receiving yards this season. It's funny everyone trying to jump on SSOG about this. What he said was at the time true. Britt's fantasy value was entirely dependent on TD's, which are very unreliable. It's funnier seeing someone defend him on this one when he was dead wrongIt's funny everyone trying to jump on SSOG about this.
6 days ago people said that VY going down would hurt Britt . . .assuming he stays out of trouble (BIG assumption) - he will be a "beast" (according to Kerry Collins) for the rest of the year . . .His value stay the same when Vince Young comes back? I think Kerry Collins boosts his value big time, without Collins...he's a 2 reception TD guy. Am I wrong?
He's had exactly one monster game in his career. Perhaps more relevant (from the player spotlight series here):Well now that it obviously helped his value, when Vince Young comes back what happens? He hasn't had a monster game with VY.
VY @ QB
5/41/0
2/26/1
3/23/1
4/86/1
Nothing fancy. I mean he's racking up the TD's but yardage wise, very limited. We'll see!
I really don't think Collins or Young being the starter will impact his production significantly.Kenny Britt - first six games (Mostly Collins) 34 targets 5.67 per game 19 catches 55.9% 289 yds 15.2 ypc and 0 TDs
Kenny Britt - next two games (Young starts) 1 target 0.5 per game 1 catch 100% 7 yds 7.0 ypc and 0 TDs
Kenny Britt - last eight games (Young starts) 40 targets 5.0 per game 22 catches 55.0% 405 yds 18.4 ypc and 3 TDs
He remains a good young receiver who's improving noticeably, scores a decent number of TD's, and makes his QB's look good.I don't know why people think it's one QB or the other making Britt look good. If anything, it's the other way around.Well now that it obviously helped his value, when Vince Young comes back what happens?
Wrong about Britt breaking out? Yes. Wrong by saying that he needed to show something other than scoring a few TD's? No. It's just amusing to watch everyone circling, waiting for one of the hundreds of predictions a guy has made to go wrong. It's funnier seeing someone defend him on this one when he was dead wrongIt's funny everyone trying to jump on SSOG about this.

Collins hit Damian four times last week because he made some nice plays and went with the hot hand. He did that this week too. Before Britt came in, Damian had a nice catch or two and he was the first to congratulate Britt on his quick TD upon entering the game. This post reads like there's some dissent or preferential treatment that one must decipher and there simply isn't. Last week I mentioned that Damian had earned a chance and the rook got more opportunity today. (Remember Justin Gage returned today too) Both of these WRs are progressing and it seems very much the future of the Titans WR corps. Damian's on a short leash but earning time. He probably gets a few more snaps the following week.As I said also, Mariani is chomping at the bit to get in at WR. He and Damian were the productive two in preseason and somewhat used against Britt in a sort of this is how you should behave sort of way. Fisher did a wonderful job of managing these youngsters today.Britt drops routine passes and it's mind numbing. Even amidst this stellar day today he had an ordinary sideline grab where he was to catch it, turn and run up the sideline. At least he caught it, but he stepped out on the run after. Young loves Scaife and there's stories about him urging the Titans to draft him that don't seem to be true, however they do illustrate the point pretty well. He's his college teammate, his goto guy in a pinch etc. Collins throws to the TEs plenty too though. There's no dissension. It's just developing young players. As one announcer pointed out today, Britt didn't even run his route well. The DBs just stunk. He got lucky today. He is NOT going to have a successful NFL career if he doesn't make the routine catches and run his routes well. He's also not going to have the QBs being all too pleased with him if that's happening too. Don't misunderstand his errors for favoritism. It's just a bunch of young WRs learning.i benched him bec collins never looked his way last week. (still had high score in my 2x14 team league, woohoo). i think VY coming back helps him, or at least doesnt hurt him. before this week, it def would have helped him. now, maybe collins is looking his way more, i guess, so you have to adjust his performance up with collins, so maybe VY is on par. But Vince likes him a lot, they were getting in a good rhythm, I think it's fine for him with VY coming back.
It's not possible for a WR to hav a monster game with Young as QB.Well now that it obviously helped his value, when Vince Young comes back what happens? He hasn't had a monster game with VY.
This isn't a vet hanging around the league for 7 years catching 8 TD on 40 catches every year. This was a 2nd year player with a first round pedigree. Not a big leap to figure out after watching him that the yards would eventually come. Yea, because he's been such a game changer all season and it was so easy to figure this was going to be the week he puts up probably the best single game production out of any WR this season.... Virtually everyone in the SP predicted 40+ FF points this week out of him.... :endsarcasm:This isn't a vet hanging around the league for 7 years catching 8 TD on 40 catches every year. No one made that claim, but nice try at a misdirection. People were only arguing that he was coming on and due for more yards than the extrapolated 560.And yeah, he was a gamechanger as he owned Dallas a couple weeks ago.Yea, because he's been such a game changer all season and it was so easy to figure this was going to be the week he puts up probably the best single game production out of any WR this season.... I wasnt suggesting 'favoritism' just that certain QBs have rapport with certain WRs and Britt looked like he was a favorite target of Young's, but didnt have that same connection with Collins. Maybe Damian practiced more with Collins and the 2s, whatever. Just looked like Collins wasnt looking Britt's way.Collins hit Damian four times last week because he made some nice plays and went with the hot hand. He did that this week too. This is a legitimate gripe. He's never been a hands catcher going back to Rutgers as this picture displays:I gotta admit, my biggest gripe with Britt wasn't his QB but his ability to actually catch the ball when an easy pass was thrown to him - - sure he's had a knack for some nifty grabs, and certainly he's been a capable receiver once a week in the end zone, but he's dropped some pretty dubious passes in his career, including this season. After today I'm ready to sit down and order my crow with some salt and maybe a little pepper.
The guy has morphed into a pretty capable player it appears...if only I hadn't benched him due to the off field issues today.
Agree. Britt is a terrific young WR. People forget how young he is. Guy is a stud. What an incredible WR class this is so far (DHB excluded...)anyone talking about britts stats really need to realize what hes done so far in his career...im just not sure how you could look at anything hes done(state-wise) so far with any negativity at all...his ROOKIE year he had 42 receptions for 701 yards and 3tds in a rushing offense... he got those 42 receptions on 75 targets which is solid, also, he averaged 16.9 yards per catch. im not going to run the numbers on all rookies ever to play...but i know thats better than most rookies to play. i also know averaging basically 17 yards per catch is exceptional and most guys that come near that are considered playmakers and big time deep threats. since week two (not sure what happend week one) he has 37 targets which comes too 6.2 targets per gme. say he gets 6 targets a game for the rest of the year, that comes out to 92 targets. what makes all the haters think his yards per catch is gonna go down so much? BEFORE yesterdays game he was averaging 13 ypc even though almost half his targets had come in the redzone(limited potential for big yardage plays). moral of the story is i dont get what everyone is saying...yes hes an idiot...and could potentially screw himself out of a great career either off the field or being in the doghouse on it. but how in the world could you doubt his talent or base his demise on his production on the field? just doesnt seem to make sense to me.

I was just going to post in here asking about thoughts on Britt with Young back at the helm.I guess it will be a wait and see approach......and Vince is ready.
Titans quarterback Vince Young practiced for the third straight day on Friday and is expected to start against the Chargers on Sunday according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
"There a pretty good chance Vince will start," Coach Jeff Fisher said.
Let the neutralization begin.
Young and the Titans have gone deep a few times each week. It looks more like a pretentious attempt to open up the offense than actually opening it up, but they seem to have made it a point to do that. As was said by a few of us though, Britt's success will always hinge on him being able to make the simple catches and to run a decent route. One can't even jump to pointing the finger at Young if he can't do those two things.I was just going to post in here asking about thoughts on Britt with Young back at the helm.I guess it will be a wait and see approach......and Vince is ready.

If you held him this long why in the world trade him? Your investment is about to cash in and now decide to trade? Terrible idea.I think Britt is a great sell high guy.
