Kenny Watson's role in week 6? (1 Viewer)

Rudi Johnson has only put one days practice in over the last few weeks. As late as Thurday Johnson was unable to practice. Does anyone really think he will step in and see the majority of touches this week?

My money is on Kenny Watson being more involved that a dinged up Rudi Johnson.

Any thoughts?

Managing bye weeks and a slew of RB injuries, the best I can come up with for my RB2 this week is Kenny Watson. Rudi practiced one day in the last 2 weeks, his hammy could be gingerly. Watson being fresh may at least pull 3rd downs. If there's nothing better, then there's nothing better. I think (my opinion only) this week they will split carries, alternating series....each getting 10-12 touches for the game....with a hint of a possibility that Watson gets more.

Edited to correct the hammy to gingerly.

I know this is a Watson thread but didn't want to start another thread for Johnson. How come there is no pinned thread for either one at the top of the page. Thought I read earlier in the week Johnson was probable but a GTD. Either way if Johnson doesn't go I think Watson should go off in is place.

There should be a little more information closer to game time but right now it's pretty much a game time decision if Johnson plays.

If he does, I don't expect him in there often. I'm be surprised if he has anything more than 10 to 15 carries. The last thing you want to do is aggravate the injury and Watson has done a decent job in running in his replacement.

I would guess that a gametime decision will mean splitting carries at best for Watson and Johnson. Tough call to make

I agree and if there's any concern about that he shouldn't even be active. That's ignorant coaching to play a guy if he isn't ready to play. If Rudi's healthy (like Lewis said on Friday) then one would think he'd resume his regular workload or close to it. That means Watson either gets 0 carries or maybe a handful. One Bengals beat writer has speculated it will be an even split which makes me wonder why Rudi would even be active. If he isn't healthy enough to take his regular workload, sit him until he is. So far all the signs are pointing to Rudi playing but it will be interesting to see how involved Watson is.

I would agree with most replies here if he was Questionable on the injury report from Friday, but he was listed as Probable and had a Full practice Friday. I believe he starts....my opinion.

Bengals inactives; Watston to start at RB

Out for the Bengals are right tackle Willie Anderson, safety Ethan Kilmer, linebackers Ahmad Brooks, Rashad Jeanty and Caleb Miller, defensive end Jonathan Fanene and wide receiver Tab Perry.

Anderson's consecutive starts streak of 116 games comes to an end. Stacy Andrews will start at right tackle. Other lineup changes are Kenny Watson at running back ahead of Rudi Johnson. Johnson, who missed the New England game with a hamstring injury, is expected to play.
