Leshoure has talent but is completely unproven coming off a season ending injury. Gotta show it on the field before you're anointed.
Logic has no place in this thread, guy.
I'm sorry. Mikel is the shiznit doggs!!! KSmit is trash and be stankin. :loco: Better?
Much. But don't forget to act like Smith has never had a good game.

If you would be so kind to post his stats I could tell you how many good games he had.

Just what we need in the pool - another thread about Lions running backs . . . and the OP is wrong, Smith's value didn't drop - it wasn't that high in the first place. People knew Leshoure was coming back in week 3- there was no newsflash today.

Again, for the millionth time, they will share carries - I don't even know what all this debating is about.

Smith had big value the first two weeks and plenty of people hoped or thought he could have big value all season long based on all or some of the following. (1)That Best won't come back. (2)That Leshoure has not been unable to stay healthy/has not earned trust of coaching staff/may not be any good and so nothing more than backup when he does return. (3)That Kevin Smith would begin the season as the feature runner and had a chance to seal the job.

He wasn't drafted like that. He was drafted as what, RB3 or RB4?? No one was depending on him to start all year.

Seriously. I have him in one league and he's my 4th-best RB. He's a lottery ticket in case he catches fire. But some treat him like he's a complete non-factor, and that's unwise.

I don't know his ADP across all leagues but in FFPC high stakes drafts his ADP the weeks leading up to the season was 6th-7th round area. I did two high stakes drafts a few days before kickoff. In one draft he went 6th round and the other 5th round. This is when teams are typically taking RB2 and RB3.

Anyone holding Smith would be crazy not to let this LeShoure thing play out. No one knows what percentage of the player they drafted he is at this point. In dynasty Smith was probably a waiver pickup last year and a late round flyer in redraft. Maybe LeShoure steps in and gets it done but I'm guessing the Lions eventually knock on Smith's door again before the season is over...

Seems like every report coming out of detroit is basically saying the Lions will give Leshoure all he can handle.I know Smith was a hot name being tossed out as steal in later rounds. What's the thinking now?
i traded him for celek which is a big upgrade over davis and olsen.then again i have rice, t rich, and benson so would start all of them over smith at this point.i used him week 1 so i am happy.

I dont think most people are taking RB2 in the 6th round.
It's really not unusual. In the two high stakes leagues I'm in when Smith was taken I had 2 RB's on one team and 1 RB on the other. About 4 weeks ago I did a draft were I took him as my RB3 in round 7 but only because I planned, and failed, to draft Leshoure. At this point you are just splitting hairs as I've already pointed out his ADP in high stakes leagues suggested he was drafted fairly highly. His ADP was right around RB28. So that's a RB2 for some but go ahead and call it a RB3 if it makes you feel better.. You can go beat on this dead horse some more but in the leagues I participate he was not drafted to be many teams RB4 or just drafted to be someone for 2 weeks especially when one of those weeks he had to play against San Fran.

So everyone is still ignoring the fact that very few players come back from achilles injuries even somewhat close to their former selves?

To me the writing is on the wall - and couldn't be clearer - for LeShoure to be a dud this season (and all that follow). I mean, there is a chance he becomes an NFL caliber starting RB, but we're talking about a Lloyd Christmas chance. If you can buy Kevin Smith low, do it. There are way too many "sharks" getting excited about LeShoure.

Is the achilles surgery and subsequent rehab all that antiquated? Where is it in terms of of acl recovery? Is it the equivalent to three, five, ten years ago? Isnt D Thomas doing well? I know he is ot an RB, but the guy doesnt seem to have ANY lingering effects...

Not ignoring it but since medical technology is ever improving I tend to focus on more recent players post-achilles performance. So on that note I'd say Demaryius Thomas is a big reason I believe Leshoure can be productive at this point in the process. Both players were very young which aides in the rehab process. I don't recall the exact timeline of DT's injury but it was early off season so I'm thinking February or March. Honestly I expected last season to be a wasted year for him but they never put him on PUP and by around 7 or 8 months or so after surgery he was about as productive as a WR can be with Tebow as your QB. It's now been about 13-14 months since Leshoure had his achilles injury or about half to 40% more time to recover as DT did before he started to produce. So call it the Demaryious Thomas impact because I know if it was not for his post-achilles results I'd have a hard time believing Leshoure could make an impact this soon.

Ah, so this thread has reached the "BUT D.THOMAS HURT HIS ACHILLES AND HE'S 100% OKAY!" part of the journey.

D.Thomas partially tore his Achilles. Leshoure fully ruptured his. These are two totally different animals.
