Kevin Burnett = SOD (1 Viewer)

I have TWC so I don't get NFLN. Can you give any more details on his play? (Obviously 5/0 in the box score isn't bad). How much / when did he play? Did Dobbins play at all with the 1s?

Burnett is a guy that I've targeted in nearly all my leagues in the offseason, and glad to see he appears to eb winning the 3-down job.....

I believe the confusion could potentially stem from the stinger that Burnett suffered in the last preseason game. However, Burnett is supposed to be ready to go, so I assume he will start unless something changes.

Game 1: 1 tackle, 2 assists

The guy was on the field the whole time... Just couldn't make plays and/or tackles.

Anyone here still think he's the better play at LB than Cooper?! LOL.

Not even close. Granted it's one game, but Cooper was ALL over the field. Burnett looked slow and confused, IMO.

Game one has definitely soured me a bit on Burnett.

I loved his upside this season but he looked a step slow last night (not necessarily speed wise but knowing where to be on teh field, etc). This was very apparent on the passing play where Zach Miller spun him the opposite way on his pass route.

Me too!

I'll hold for a couple more weeks to see if this week was just oddball but he's gone if this keeps up.

Luckily our rosters are deep enough that he won't start for me until byes or injuries require.

I was thinking about starting him this week vs. BAL... thinking tackle opportunities might be good. Now, I'm not so sure.

I missed the game...did he give any hope to give him a couple more weeks, or is it time to go for Tulloch or someone else?
You can stash him if you like... or cut him. It's not like anyone is going to be rushing to the waiver wire to pick him up.He looked horrible... Slow and confused! He couldn't fight off any blocks. With all the hype around these parts, I finally got to watch him in a game. He played the entire game, every down, and didn't do squat. Based on this game, Stephen Cooper was far superior.Who knows? I'd launch him for Tulloch without hesitation right now. We'll see what he does next week.

I would wait a couple games before giving up on Burnett. His performance this week was surprising. I watched the third pre-season game and he looked great. Didn't look like the same guy on Monday. My best guess is his injury in the 4th pre-season game had something to do with his Monday performance.

Another performance like this one and he'll be headed back to the bench on base downs.

He looked tentative and almost like a deer in the headlights. Nothing at all like what he looked like during the preseason or in part-time duty with Dallas, when he was rangy, sudden and around the ball on nearly every play. This week's matchup against Baltimore will tell the tale. If he's not productive this week, he's got little chance of turning things around and hitting the LB3+ upside I thought he had.

I saw Dobbins out there a few times - but I didn't have a chance to watch the game closely and it was accidentally deleted from my DVR. Did anyone know what situations Dobbins was out there? And who was covering Zach Miller?

Noticed that too. I saw Dobbins about 4-5 times on 1st and 10 plays. He actually made 2-3 tackles just in those plays. On 2nd and 3rd downs, Burnett was back in there. Going against Baltimore this week is a very favorable matchup. It's do or die for him.

Huge game for Burnett today. Anyone watch it and see what was going on with him and Cooper, who had a weak game? (well, it's not quite over yet)

I own both in a dynasty league and have been starting Cooper, among others.

Haven't seen the game yet, but Kevin Acee (SDUnTrib) was twittering throughout the game that Burnett again looked like the player he had been in the preseason.

What changed? I picked this guy up in my auction league and was about to drop him, but now I'm hesitating. Can we expect more games like this one?Or more like the one against the Raiders where he looked like he couldn't remember where he puts his keys?

I dropped him last week after another poor performance. You think he is worth rostering Jene, or is he just not dependable enough?
