Cant believe the Lions gave up on a talent like this

Any reason he cant rebound from injuries and be a feature back again?

When he was on he was and it was brief he was one of not too many backs that could run and catch

every time he rebounds he just gets hurt again and the injuries are getting worse each time.

I think he can start, but I don't think it will be by design. I am sure he will find himself in a backup or RBBC role for the rest of his career and it will probably take an injury to the RB1 or his running mate in an RBBC to get the majority of the touches for any substantial length of time.

I would love to see him in New England learning the Kevin Faulk role and taking over next year. Faulk is old, and they will need a player like that on the team.

I never thought of that, but that may not be a bad place for him to land at all.

That would make some sense.I don't think Jones will ever be given a shot as good as the one he had in Detroit again.

Really tough to say. I sort of doubt he is brought to a new team being handed the starting RB gig. Likely the best he'll get is a RBBC role promised him. Now he could be part of a RBBC or a backup somewhere when the other RB gets injured, and then by default becomes the primary ball carrier. Arizona was a solid call by one poster, what about places like Cinci or even NYJ (since T Jones is older)??

As a KJ owner, I am hoping for this. As a Edge owner, I am dreading this. KJ would take that job by the horns within no time. When he got cut, I wondered if he would resign for a smaller figure, I don't rule that out. Cincinnati and Chicago are also possibilities, especially if Benson is cut.

Highly doubt any team will bring him in expecting him to be their bell-cow. I think best case scenario for Jones is to get into a RBBC. He could possibly get a starting role, but it will be more due to circumstance (injuries to his backfield mates) then to some team wanting to rely on him as their starter.

Also his receiving ability is just average, he doesn't look all that fluid like a Westbrook catching balls out of the backfield. He just got thrown to a ton in the Martz offense, a monkey playing RB would have had a bunch of catches in that offense. His stats are very misleading when judging him as a receiver.

He will likely sign a one year deal just before the season starts as a backup. He'll start somewhere next year when he is fully healthy. People who pretend he isn't talented haven't watched him play. You can't just cite statistics--he was in one of the worst running offenses in the game.

Jones said there were 20 teams calling him the day the Lions cut him. Wouldn't you think maybe one of them would have signed him by now if there was any potential of him playing this year. Just one? My guess is they are waiting to see if he can actually run, at all. The odds of him coming back after Lis Franc and ACL injuries in back to back seasons aren't very good. IMO.

From what you posted, I see a player that has averaged 77 total yards, 0.5 TD, and 2.7 receptions a game over his career playing banged up and for Detroit (not exactly the mecca of RB production). That works out to 13.4 ppg in PPR leagues . . . which last year would have ranked him as the #19 RB last year.I understand that he's rarely healthy, but if he were to end up in a decent spot and got some opportunities I think he's worth a roster spot if you can get him on the cheap.

had this guy in 2 dynasty leagues since he was a rookie. he has been nothing but a disappointment. I moved him in both leagues

I really like KJ. The guy works hard and is a tough RB.

Injuries have derailed his career. The body can only take so much. That being said I thing he would be a good addition as a backup to a contending team.

Oxymoron?Actually it would be right in line with the Lions luck to have KJ come back from two season ending injuries in a row and become the HOF running back.

I wouldn't make much of him not being signed yet. I would guess that he has received offers, but nothing he liked since teams aren't going to invest much until he's healthy.

I love Faulk and what he has done in NE but, he is 32. KJ is a good reciever, and i think would be a great fit with Maroney in the 3rd down/change of pace back. Maroney doesn't seem like he will ever be a carry the whole load kind oh back.

You guys are dreaming if you don't think he would replace Faulk. He is a great receiving HB and can also bang away for the short first down or TD. He is a great third down back because the defense can't know if he is in to run or receive.
