Was going to replace one 5 or so yrs ago. Refused to pay the price. It's insaneHoly hell...anyone ever replace one of these for their car? I am searching for one online and the cheapest price I have seen is $180...and then it still needs to get programmed by a dealership. I haven't priced that service yet. Why are these so expensive?
Some higher end cars (like BMW or Audi) can be over $400. Consider yourself lucky.Holy hell...anyone ever replace one of these for their car? Same here. It sort of sucks to walk past the car every day and see it covered in dust but I guess you gotta take a stand some times in lifeWas going to replace one 5 or so yrs ago. Refused to pay the price. It's insane

What year?Mine is for a Toyota 4Runner. It is a keyless system. I had 2 fobs. One has gone AWOL. I blame my wife. I suspect she either swept it away into the garbage or scooped it up and unknowingly put it somewhere as she cleaned up for a party at the house a few weeks ago. I was thinking I could survive with one, but if something goes wrong with it or it gets misplaced, then I am SOL.
I did a quick search and I found they sell the oem 2010 Toyota 4Runner fobs on e-bay (for example for $100) and then it looks like a locksmith or batteriesplus can program the fob for you for $35 - $50.2010
Still way overpriced for what it is. But thanks for scouting. I see the ebay ones are used/refurbished. I guess I don't really need new as long as it works.I did a quick search and I found they sell the oem 2010 Toyota 4Runner fobs on e-bay (for example for $100) and then it looks like a locksmith or batteriesplus can program the fob for you for $35 - $50.
Brand new one for $130.55 from a Toyota dealership out of Georgia. Your part number is 89904-35010 if you wanted to shop around for it.Still way overpriced for what it is. But thanks for scouting. I see the ebay ones are used/refurbished. I guess I don't really need new as long as it works.

Kinda. If you look at the fine print, they sell a generic remote for $110, a refurb Toyota remote is also $110 while a brand new, genuine Toyota remote is $177. That link I sent is for a new, genuine, Toyota remote. Just wanted to make sure you're comparing like to like.
Just keep in mind that most of the time if you only have one and lose it, the vehicle will need to be towed into a dealer to reprogram the new fob because of the anti theft system.Still way overpriced for what it is.
